What is the dimension (length and width) of the backyard. I am having trouble visualising mine. Hi krishhd, My rear yard is 15m across, & ~7.6m deep (can't quite remember depth, but that's it roughly). The concrete area under the awning is 2.6m deep, and is 15m wide; the awning is deep enough to cover the concrete & a tiny bit more, & is 13.2m (across the back of the house, as wide as the eaves' furthest points). Hope that helps Sent using Tapatalk Re: Building at Willowdale 2359Mar 02, 2016 6:29 pm Fair enough. My personal view is that the rules are there for a reason. I agree Marko: rules are there for a reason, hence why we have builders' licensing, Aust Stds, & relevant Codes; these are our rules imho. The (imho) unreasonably high fees council charge to do their bit (which I consider in all practicality not needed as long as you do the above) are a cost that isn't necessary to the average Jayne. Having said that, rules are definitely needed, just not the ones that don't do a lot for you but cost you a lot of money (again, imho ). Some which are under a certain size (pergolas) don't need Council approval - size needs to be confirmed, with either Council or your builder in-the-know Sent using Tapatalk Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
