It's a great design. Love your changes. Makes it a very big house. Don't think I've seen a plan without a kitchen bench. Are you having a big table there? Have you thought about taking out the second big window/door to the alfresco to give you more wall space? Re: our first home group wa home 8Feb 26, 2016 4:43 pm Robina Welcome we are also building a modified version of the Southport. It's a great design. Love your changes. Makes it a very big house. Don't think I've seen a plan without a kitchen bench. Are you having a big table there? Have you thought about taking out the second big window/door to the alfresco to give you more wall space? we are putting an island bench in at prestart just had to take it out to met the banks lending, just means we pay for it at prestart which is fine. the doors that go out the back we had limited options for cause unless we wanted to pay the $9000 they wanted to charge to make whole back wall sliding doors we couldnt afford that so next best thing was to have a small wall to support the beam that goes over the doors and an extra window. the 2 windows on other side i made them bit longer as i will be using the windows to seperate the dinning and living rooms. again it would cost way to much to change to a massive window. it seems bit weird some prices that some people have been given for same things seem way off. just hope prestart isnt going to cost us a second mortgage lol Re: our first home group wa home 9Feb 26, 2016 4:51 pm Okay I see now. You have a much bigger back door/window space than us as we have used part of the alfresco as a store room. Good idea about the island bench. We used della vita tiles for our bathrooms but most people use Crosbys or the other one. We spent a lot of money on structural changes so had to stay with their tiles. We took out their main floor tiles. As we are going greys and charcoal and white. Hope you find some lovely tiles and Goodluck with your build. Posting to follow. Re: our first home group wa home 10Feb 26, 2016 5:38 pm sounds very much like us, we have their tiles the grey ones and gloss white ones but going to cosbys tomorrow just to have a look. we took main florr tiles out as well. to be honest i just didnt like them, i feel they are a bit cheap looking for the overall look im going for. i love watching everyones builds and seeing the colour choices and styles. great design inspiration from a few post already Re: our first home group wa home 11Feb 26, 2016 7:42 pm what have people done with the lights. i have noticed some people have put pendant lights in, did you change those after or at prestart. im not sure whether to add extra downlights and just put the conduit in the for pendant lights or just suck it up and get them to do it all Re: our first home group wa home 13Feb 27, 2016 12:46 am Hi Jasminelee_86, following as we are building the Southport too. It's just a beautiful layout. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: our first home group wa home 15Feb 27, 2016 3:54 am we are going to crosbys today to see if we like any of their tiles better than our current selection, ill keep you posted Re: our first home group wa home 16Feb 27, 2016 2:29 pm So we went to crosbys and picked our new colour selection. Love them way more than what homegroup had to offer. Now we just need to wait for the total cost i bet that may hurt a bit Re: our first home group wa home 18Feb 27, 2016 2:36 pm And we have subway tiles in the kitchen for splashback with black grout 😊 Re: our first home group wa home 20Feb 29, 2016 12:04 pm Omg im so excited prestart in 2 days, going over all the colours and styles again, wanna make sure i dont miss anything. Sure i will miss something. Is there anything anyone missed and wished they didnt or things they changed that didnt really matter if they did or not If the eaves are fixed first, the eaves line is about 250 mm below the top plate of wall frame. If the cladding ie hebel stops just under the eave line, then that means… 2 30476 I second taking your plans elsewhere. They're yours (unless you ended up in one of those cheaper arrangements where you don't own the rights and the build will be tendered… 2 17191 All locked up and cabinets are in! Had a bit of an issue with kitchen tiles no longer available, so I had to re-select. I'm happier with the new selection though, which is… 25 100981 |
