They only fixed it around plumbing stage. Do you have an inspector? Re: Redink build - has this happened to anyone else? 7Sep 13, 2015 10:47 am Nah don't have an inspector. Was going to find one to check up. They've basically stuffed up all piping. The only one they didn't was ensuite. Spoken to RI and they said it'll get fixed but dunno how they'll fix a massive hole in bricks. And worried that if now a pipe leaks due to expansion of bricks etc that'll I'll get water damage. So annoyed they didn't pick this up before bricks. Re: Redink build - has this happened to anyone else? 8Sep 13, 2015 12:41 pm Id be more concerned that there isnt much of an angle on the horizontal bits...dont want anything sitting in the pipe and stinking up the house :/ Unfortunately this is one of those situations where i would feel the need to get an independent inspector. Throughout our build redink did listen to our concerns and tried to do the right thing but i would still want a second opinion considering how important drainage is! Re: Redink build - has this happened to anyone else? 9Sep 13, 2015 12:42 pm Oh and i wouldnt be too concerned with the hole in the bricks as long as they patch properly...id be more concerned with long term pipe issues...and the damage to the slab?! Re: Redink build - has this happened to anyone else? 10Sep 13, 2015 9:37 pm Thanks Kat. That's wat I'm concerned about aswell. If pipes are all above and exposed. Specially the one that's right under the brick wall. So annoyed. How could they f**k the piping up so badly. Maybe one or two pipes but all. Arrhh. Yeh there's one of the toilet pipes where they've taken a heap of slab out. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ripped out the black mesh n all. Re: Redink build - has this happened to anyone else? 11Sep 13, 2015 10:13 pm Oh dear I wouldn't be happy about that, definitely get an independent inspector. Our pipe was one for electricity so they didn't need to go back all the way down for it. Re: Redink build - has this happened to anyone else? 12Sep 14, 2015 10:53 am I know I'm so annoyed. This plumbing guy just didn't give a damn wat damaged he caused. Re: Redink build - has this happened to anyone else? 13Sep 14, 2015 10:53 am What's a good building inspector in Perth. Re: Redink build - has this happened to anyone else? 15Sep 14, 2015 5:02 pm We're using houspect too - but be aware that you don't get to interact with the inspectors themselves, you deal with the office. Which may or may not be a problem for you, I think if I'm unsure about something on a report I may prefer to talk to the person who did the inspection. Also, for us it was important to have photos of defects - we just assumed we'd get this. So if this is important to you too (some faults are covered up later so you may need photos to refer to them) be sure to ask for it. I've emailed both companies for quotes. So upsetting. Just a pain having to fork out more money to check on things they should be doing already.
