Unfortunately I can beat you ses78 on the slab wait (not that I want to win on this type of thing ). Slab poured 2/7, frames started 13/8 - 42days!!! Frames are still not complete!!! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1134Sep 02, 2015 8:28 am quach128 Our SS said there was an issue with the timber supplier (Bunnings Warehouse), exactly what it was they didn't disclose. My instinct tells me they forgot to order the timber and steel when they were suppose to during the period between the peg and slab. Mind you that also took around 30 days to turn around. I was told a similar thing about frames, plus some BS about how the engineer didn't like the design of the roof trusses. Peg out 12/5. Slab 2/7. 51 days!! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1135Sep 02, 2015 8:34 am Ses_78 Today's invoices bring quite a few queries along with them.... Did everyone else have amounts to check on with variations? It seems some things are being charged for twice and some things that have been cancelled along the way are still being charged for. Including a $10grand provisional amount for 'fill'(dirt brought in) from the tender which is still currently being charged for but we had no dirt brought on at all!!!! I have enquired on a bunch of my 'provisionals' that have not, or I am unsure of, that have been done. Sent them an email about it on 5/7 and advised that I wouldn't be paying the variations progress payment until it was adjusted. I still haven't heard from them and no one is chasing the money. It does stipulate in the HIA contract, that if work is not done during a particular phase, that the builder must adjust the progress payment to remove the item, before payment is required. Ses_78, hold out on progress payment on them until it is adjusted. You're within your contractual rights!! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1137Sep 02, 2015 8:41 pm Ses78 With your slab being so high they must have brought in extra fill to raise that height. Mishbut Welcome buddy! We wanna hear everything so please post often. Return to Shire You seem to have had a terrible trot, poor thing. What reasons were you given, if any, for the substantial delays? Guys Regarding double billing perhaps you will find there was an "allowance" in your tender and when they work out the final exact price you get the invoice. Maybe. Ses Maybe the frame fairy will leave 20c under your pillow. Although frames would be preferable, eh? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1139Sep 02, 2015 10:19 pm Hi everyone building with Kurmond, My wife and I are considering the Bronte 32 from KH. Can we please have your experience feedback if you have built and/or building. I don't think there is one company with ONLY good positive feedback. We choosing between KH, Rawson, Wisdom and Clarendon. This forum has been good in giving answers.. but not necessarily what you want to hear when you about to spend $$$ with these companies.. delays, paperwork mess, paint being below standard. Cheers FirstHomeBuilder2015 Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1140Sep 02, 2015 11:16 pm Hi FirstHomeBuilder2015 Suggest you read through the forum. But no build is without it's challenges/delays/frustrations/extra costs no matter who you build with. Do your homework and go with who you feel comfortable with. We are now approx 12 weeks out from completion, all going to plan, and I can say that, so far, the workmanship on our build has been great, which in the end is the main thing. Best of luck with your final decision and impending build I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 109814 Hi there! Putting the feelers out there for those who have (or almost) built with Arli homes! Interested in your experiences who've built from their stock home designs… 0 26704 Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 25881 |
