Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building On Poles 4Aug 18, 2015 4:54 pm I live in a house built on steel poles. My block is very steep with 10m fall front to rear. The house was a standard timber framed brick veneer project house. There is a strip foundation around the perimeter of the house (to support the bricks) with piers elsewhere to support the steel poles. A system of timber bearers are supported on top of the steel poles with a platform timber floor. Above the timber platform is a standard timber framed project house. There is no cut or fill under the actual house footprint so "standard" foundations were used. Re: Building On Poles 5Aug 19, 2015 10:30 pm BeetalooI live in a house built on steel poles.
