Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon - Duxton 39 3Aug 06, 2015 6:51 am Morning NikNak. If your plan doesn't require changing it just means you selected a perfect plan for you and family and nothing wrong with that I've been browsing threads just to pick up ideas etc.. Unfortunately no one is building the Duxton so I look at threads similar to our plan and same builder. I didn't realise I missed some things out. Look at Carlisle threads which I see many and you'd get some great advice. But if your happy I wouldn't change a thing. Can't wait for your thread I'll follow your progress:-) Re: Metricon - Duxton 39 4Aug 06, 2015 8:19 am Nice plan Emmz! I really like having a full bathroom on both levels of the house, even if one is an ensuite. If we were building a two storey I'd want a shower on both levels Looking forward to following your journey Jen (& Dave) Plantation Bronte, Ormeau Ridge, Gold Coast QLD 12/03/2015 - Commencement... 26/08/2015 - Handover! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76446 Re: Metricon - Duxton 39 6Aug 12, 2015 8:22 am Hi Emmz, Just found your thread . Nice plans and good changes. Looking forward to seeing updates and progress. Wow you get driveway and roller blinds through M that's great! Less to do post handover viewtopic.php?t=78985 Metricon - Duxton 39 7Aug 21, 2015 8:45 pm Hi emmz, I thought I would respond to your door question on your thread, fab floor plan too, your front facade is quite similar to ours but with a balcony , from the look of the quote it's just replacing the stacker doors but doesn't mention them being corner less, I would double check that. Have you decided what your going to do with your flooring? I went and saw the flooring man at our house yesterday and he laid screed to smooth the slab to be able to lay the laminate, he said if we had chosen to do our flooring after handover it would of cost us a extra $1,200 in screed but because it's in contract with m it cost us nothing, I had no idea about the screed. Metricon - Duxton 39 8Sep 29, 2015 10:15 pm I Thought I better update post.

I don't know why the sales consultant said it can be fixed st 16K. At delaray , do you know if you have to pay bushfire Levi 4000? Looking forward to follow your journey unfolds. Are you doing KDR? Hi Boysenberry Not a KDR, we purchased land first but it doesn't title until next year. So we have a lot of time to select a home Metricon - Duxton 39 14Sep 30, 2015 12:17 pm sunxiaoxuan23926 Once again, great selections Emma. When are you signing contract? They booked us in 14/11. I'm hoping we do get copies before the date as well. But we have every right to not sign if unhappy with it. Ours is fixed under 16k as well due to land being flat, But hoping to not get unexpected costs at the time. It originally was 18k plus but head office sent us a reduction price of under 16k. As for the fire they haven't put it in yet because they are hoping the surrounding properties will be established and we won't need to pay. But we've still added that to our budget Wow not long for you now. When is your 6 star energy rating appointment? But mind you if you didn't make any structural changes your fine we made many Re: Metricon - Duxton 39 15Sep 30, 2015 10:59 pm Wow not long for you now. When is your 6 star energy rating appointment? I think it might be 5 ? Lol . However I do remember our sales consultant told me that I might have to pay to make 5 star energy compliance or something like that. we increased ceiling height , and changed a window to stacker door. I have facebooked Park Edge Facebook and asking about stage 7 status . They said due to the bad weather we had lately, land won't be ready until Dec. it supposed to be ready by Nov. so there you go to our first delay. Giving Christmas and new year . I think most likely it won't happen before end of Jan. Re: Metricon - Duxton 39 17Sep 30, 2015 11:16 pm sunxiaoxuan23926 Wow not long for you now. When is your 6 star energy rating appointment? We have until March. And land titles June!!! Work that one out hah However we did say we'll come back December and start, so they allowed us up until March. 9 months they agreed too. So I hope for a speedy process for land titling. I see our estates starting ready for stage 1 & 2 then it's our turn About ratings our SC mentioned it to us when we enquired about double glazing and then he dropped that bombshell about energy ratings. (In our heads thinking) oh no More expensive We're Ready to delete Windows if that's the case lol Re: Metricon - Duxton 39 18Sep 30, 2015 11:29 pm I'm also scared it will be too hot in Jan that tradies won't work . Lol . We have time until May next year. Tradies has to be on site by May or we have to pay 900+ per month . How much is double glazing with Metricon ? We are not getting cooling system now so maybe double glazing will help? Re: Metricon - Duxton 39 20Oct 08, 2015 7:37 pm Hi Emmz, just popped in to have a look at your thread, love your house plan and colour selections, makes me more excited for our colours appointment!! FYI, I've been told $6500 for double glazing. That is the allowance amount and I was told ours would be the maximum but depending on no. of windows and sizing etc it could be less...
