The dream is to turn it in to a garden retreat. A place that is almost too hard to leave. Any ideas on flooring? I am thinking either painting the concrete or possibly something more elaborate such as timber. Do they still make grass mats? Re: Any Ideas on this outdoor reno? 9Dec 19, 2008 12:18 pm Depends upon your budget, but:

I think you can still get the grass mating, but its really expensive now, and not something I suggest for an out door/covered over area. Timber…..could be the go, but it will need maintaining. I would lay some really big square outdoor tiles See this photo below; it has pebbles in the gaps of the tiles, nice look! I’d do this. With the pebbles it kind of brings the outdoors all the way in. Which is just the feel that I would like. Right now that room of mine, although it is outside, feels like it is in the middle of a house due to the colours and feel.
And I think I am leaning towards turning that bar in to more of an outdoor kitchen area....make the bar a breakfast bar of sorts.
