Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Boutique Homes 1241Jun 03, 2015 7:08 pm Wow, that's really not good. I don't think it is industry standard. Perhaps they just won't value the property higher than the list price for 6 months after settling. Either way, pick a few mid tier banks, I'm sure they will be much more helpful! I found one mid tier really wanted our business when we were looking, I used their offer to bring to my current bank to say 'sharpen up' and they matched it... Also, depending on your working industry, you might have a professional body / association that has negotiated good rates with certain banks.... Food for thought Re: Boutique Homes 1242Jun 03, 2015 7:19 pm Hi all, First post here. I'm about to build in the South East. Would like to check with all whether you've managed to get Boutique to add in wastes in the laundry and in the area outside the showers? I remember reading here that it can be done but my Pre-Start says it is not allowed by Boutique. Re: Boutique Homes 1243Jun 05, 2015 1:26 pm travelbugvee Hi all, First post here. I tried to get this done as well and was told it was not something they do and that it would "confuse the plumber".. The interesting thing is, that Boutique being a WA based builder initially would have had to do this in WA as it's part of their building code (I remember looking this up at the time).. In the end there was no arguing with them and they simply refused to do this. I decided there were more important things to concentrate on and let the issue drop. Let us know if you get any more success Re: Boutique Homes 1244Jun 05, 2015 3:29 pm QuarumNibblet travelbugvee Hi all, First post here. I'm about to build in the South East. Re: Boutique Homes 1245Jun 09, 2015 12:30 pm New to the forums and will be building with Boutique in the west. Just to add my 2c to the discussion above, we were also informed we couldn't put them in. We haven't pushed the point. Our title has been pushed back so we'll revisit again later in the year. Re: Boutique Homes 1246Jun 12, 2015 8:12 pm I asked for a drain in the floor in the laundry and it came back included in the PWC no probs for just over $150 which seems fair. Allui Where abouts are you build in the west? hubby and I have purchased in Aspire and a waiting for the land to settle which keeps on getting postponed. P.s thanks to everyone posting on this forum, you have all given me more reasons to avoid the floorboards and cancel my tiles. Today I have contacted boutique asking to cancel the floor tiles, but to supply the skirtings and not put them on as I am wanting polished concrete floors. Boutique wouldn't allow us to do it as their excuse was the tradesmen they use aren't the gentle type, but after speaking with a company that does them they advised its easy to do and I won't have any problems having to worry about dirty grout, cracked tiles and maintenance of polished concrete flooring is quicker and easier. Yes we will have the problem of having to get a plumber to remove the toilet bowl, then connect it and required to get a painter to finish the skirtings once the concretes done but it's going to be exactly what I want. Just waiting for confirmation of how much it is going to cost to make this change, hopefully I'll find out tomorrow. Re: Boutique Homes 1254Jun 16, 2015 8:48 am I've just finished with the colour room selections and we chose cat 2 tiles but now we're having second thoughts! We're thinking laminated floorboards! Which should I go for? What are the pros and cons? We still have time to change this Re: Boutique Homes 1255Jun 16, 2015 10:23 am [quote="tinaC"]I've just finished with the colour room selections and we chose cat 2 tiles but now we're having second thoughts! I personally didn't like the range of floorboards they offered but they do have awesome tiles however the price increases dramatically when you choose a tile that is not in the boutique range. We have order non-standard tiles in our Living/Dining/Kitchen area and in the Ensuite. We were extremely set on floorboards after checking out the showroom at the Boutique offices but was blown away by the options at Hynes and decided to run with a couple of their options. Boutique just need the item numbers. And yes, cost did add up a bit more but our PSC quoted us at a Cat 3-ish equivalent. There are some options there that we got quoted 10k for just our L/D/K area but admittedly they were extravagant options. We're building with Boutique and chose a custom tile from Hynes - added over 10K to the price to use those tiles in the L/D/K and bathrooms/laundry. We've only had one bathroom tiled so far, and we love the result - wouldn't change a thing. Re: Boutique Homes 1259Jun 17, 2015 8:17 pm Hi guys, quick question. We are just at lockup phase and our block is really messy and full of rubish. I don't want to complain, but my wife and I think it is really bad. How is everyone's experience with site cleanliness? 10 16360 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
