Thanks monalisa, best of luck with your demo, I did read on your thread that you have never lived in the house that might take the emotion out of demoing the house. Ohh exciting for you too, our final draft plans where completed today it only took one day. You are very much on the admin home straight.
Thanks Tribe! I really hope it is over soon - it is only that now colours is over that I have my weekends back. It was incredibly tiring - all the planning weekend after weekend!
I wonder if I need to just review the upgrades, as I am guessing they make those amendments to final plans only? as structural have already been locked in?
Or do I review everything from scratch? May be this - just to be on the safe side.
It is extremely time consuming, we had to do all of ours of an evening as our weekends are consumed with sport and children.
Ours have come back as final house plans and final colours selection. Drafting have been really good and updated our plans after each change was made we only had a couple of minor changes which where bed 6 door to a 820mm instead of a 720mm door, moving the hwu to the garage wall so all amenities are located together and removing the shelf and rails from both walk ins for full cabinetry fit outs after hand over. We signed the variation for the changes Wednesday and they where added today and are now complete.
The colour document came back last night for us to check over which included all external colours and choices, all internal colours, cabinetry and stone, appliances and fittings like shower screens tap ware and carpet. Our electrical is separate which was completed a couple of weeks ago, our tiling is done through m tile studio and was also completed 3 weeks ago (we select our tiles before we go to site) I know you guys have things done a little differently than we do, maybe ask your csc the process of what needs to be completed and in which order. Also ask for all your selection documents so you can marry them off against your choices, especially if you have made changes to them since your initial selection appointment.
I spent about 1.5 hours on the phone to my csc who was more than happy to explain each process and at what stage they all happen to then form the final package to be handed over to construction, she is honestly fantastic and so helpful.
Personally I would go over everything, the last thing you want is a surprise. We almost had one with our driveway but have resolved that.

. Our certifier has done the same and we got everything approved quickly that way. Fair enough with biting your tongue, it's been a little different for us as I did all our conveyancing so had to play a very active part is making sure everything's stayed on track especially as our land and build mortgage are combined as one.
I have no idea how I would go in asking them to add a door whilst they are building it , I might be pushing the friendship hahaha.
