This one is a must read for those of you who have, or have had, concerns over (or experience with) the quality controls in place for slabs. http://itsallaboutthewaldorf.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/quality-control-of-slabs-concrete.html Re: Porter Davis homes 11158Apr 13, 2015 12:29 pm I have had a terrible customer experience so far with PD. This has got to a point where I am considering stopping the build and going to VCAT to try to sort out the mess they have in their head office. I have a BC who has no idea about what the final plans are (I've not signed them off and the ones he has are inccorect). They have put the wrong size alfresco door in the frames (and it isn't centred). The lack of communication and organisation has meant I now have a house being built that is seemingly full of errors. I am getting told one story by Head Office and another by the BC to the point where I now have no faith that either of them is correct. I am now fighting with them over changes that they didn't complete - even though I never signed the final plans - because I picked up that the final drawings had errors in them. They still chose to go ahead with building the house and now it appears they do not care at all that I am picking up errors. As this is all occuring my final building variations are coming through - which even though I haven't signed these off they are now a month into the build and everything has been ordered allegedly. This includes windows which are being changed due to 6 star requirements which I have not been consulted on. I didn't want this to be a public thing - but this is a terrible way to run a business and all I can encourage others to do is make sure you keep all your emails, and confirm every last thing in writing. We are pretty happy with the response PD has given to our issues and we have been promised that all issues will be rectified within this week. http://www.dunedin29.blogspot.com.au/20 ... faith.html Also, some slab repairs being conducted this week. Scary to see this happen but we've been promised that we will be given engineering for all the work done as well as an independent inspection report. Once repairs are complete, our own independent will conduct another inspection. http://www.dunedin29.blogspot.com.au/20 ... pairs.html Hoping it's a more positive experience for the rest of the build... been quite stressful so far Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 14101 I would never build with Fowler homes.
