Still so much to do though Wow mega busy - did you buy some DIY lighting? Where did you get them, I want some general DIY lights for the bathrooms, WIR's and maybe back bedrooms as I have spent a bit on my feature lighting. Please let me know if you have any ideas Re: First Home - Build w Redink! SURPRISE 668Mar 09, 2015 12:10 pm JustinInPerth Wow mega busy - did you buy some DIY lighting? Where did you get them, I want some general DIY lights for the bathrooms, WIR's and maybe back bedrooms as I have spent a bit on my feature lighting. Please let me know if you have any ideas Yep, DIY lighting, super easy to install and I think jazz things up a bit. We literally only put it in the bathrooms, laundry, WC's and back bedrooms. We brought it all from beacon lighting. They had a 50% off sale and we got a further discount because we brought so many haha. Was good value! Re: First Home - Build w Redink! I thought he told me just to wait until floors and painting are done. I can't wait to see it the prep is because we decided to do this last minute and we have existing shelving and rails to remove. Should have asked during the build but we just didn't think about it JustinInPerth Looks awesome - I really like Lifestyle Wardrobes!! Thanks Justin Re: First Home - Build w Redink! KEYS!!! KEYS!!! Need help! Colours! 677Mar 11, 2015 11:27 am H1 friends, I need your help. Our paint has started going up and I'm hoping you can assist. I'm thinking of accenting the living/kitchen/dining with turquoise since grey walls and white kitchen. The paint is a bit darker and blue based than originally thought. I love it throughout, just unsure around the kitchen splashback. Your thoughts are appreciated and keeping in mind they aren't nearly finished. Colours! 678Mar 11, 2015 2:50 pm Awesome colour - believe me as soon as you get that flooring in, it will not look as dark. My friend freaked out about her colour (which looks nearly exactly like yours) and then once her flooring was in she felt so much better. I think it looks fine with the feature tile. I would hold off until you see everything come together - I actually wish I picked a darker colour!! Look at the progress though, so exciting!! Re: First Home - Build w Redink! KEYS!!! Need help! Colours! 679Mar 11, 2015 2:57 pm Hello!!!! Love the colour! I like it around the kitchen splash I think it will give a nice uniform look, otherwise if it was in a different colour it might make the kitchen look smaller seeing you'd be segmenting it... Letterbox is looking great!!! Have your Dad and Pop got experience with bricking and rendering? I keep telling my OH that we can do brick/rendered planter boxes ourselves but he seems to think perhaps not (although he weirdly thinks he can do a whole lot of other stuff DIY that I wouldn't even dream of doing ) Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68804 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jadeshereejust/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/jadeshereejust/ Re: First Home - Build w Redink! I know I should wait until the flooring goes down to form opinions but it just looks so different and I've coordinated the entire house in my head to the colour I thought it was haha. Second guessing colour schemes now, which is a horrible feeling. I really feel the colour clashes with the featuer tile in the kitchen, but I think it'll be alright once it's decorated! justy Hello!!!! Love the colour! I am tending to agree with you as well if I'm honest, like I said though, I think I need to wait until it's decorated to form an opinion. Geez, colours are so hard and so stressful haha. Thank you my pop was a bricklayer for 30 or 40 years I think so yeah, he has experience. My dad used to help out on his days off as well so yep, experienced there as well. They've both not done rendering before though I don't think, at least I know my dad hasn't. I'm glad we had someone in the family who could brick though as RI wanted to charge $1000 for a planter box which is ridiculous and I would hate to think how much people would charge for the letterbox. 1.
