Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building at Willowdale 982Feb 17, 2015 6:32 pm Nimsy Does anyone know the advantages of being in Camden council? Hi Nimsy, A big advantage is that the bins are all emptied every week, rather than alternating weeks for the recycling & garden bins. I have found Camden council good to work with so far Sent using Tapatalk Building at Willowdale 984Feb 17, 2015 6:45 pm Nimsy Sounds pretty good to me! How much are the rates? If anyone knows. My rates bill for this current financial year for the house I'm building at Willowdale was $1308.37, however this may have had reduced waste utilities (so the waste management may not be the full amount because council has not been informed that the residence is being occupied yet & bins are not being emptied by council trucks - once this happens when the build is complete, the rates may increase due to an increase in the waste management costs). Just thinking from a value perspective.. The packages are quite good.. Re: Building at Willowdale 986Feb 18, 2015 6:22 pm Nimsy Does anyone know the advantages of being in Camden council? Not sure what stage you are at with your build, but we had a very good experience with Camden when it came to getting our DA processed and approved. Exactly three weeks from the date our builder submitted to council. So far they've been very freindly and accommodating when we've had to contact them for a couple of issues. Re: Building at Willowdale 987Feb 18, 2015 6:32 pm stephaniek88 Hi everyone, Is anyone concerned with Emerald Hills being right next door it might slow the sale of Willowdale? Just thinking from a value perspective.. The packages are quite good.. Doubt it will have too much impact. I'd say with the interests rates still relatively low and demand already far outstripping supply, value of the properties will hold (at least for the foreseeable future). I suppose the local real estate will have a better idea about these things. Re: Building at Willowdale 988Feb 18, 2015 8:41 pm Just thought I'd mention that we had an issue with the position of the tree planted on the front of our block as it was too close to our driveway. We contacted Stockland and they are organising for a landscaper to move it next month. If you have the same issue contact customer.relations.NSW@stockland.com.au Re: Building at Willowdale 989Feb 18, 2015 8:51 pm Lara83 Just thought I'd mention that we had an issue with the position of the tree planted on the front of our block as it was too close to our driveway. If you have the same issue contact customer.relations.NSW@stockland.com.au Hi Lara83, I had a similar issue... the second tree (we had 2 out the front of our block) was planted in the middle of the driveway (the same driveway that had been approved). As it was a block early in stage one (the first block to have the tree problem), it took a while to get it removed, but eventually it was done. I think there have been a few more since then, & from what I can gather, Stockland are getting onto it quickly which is nice Hope all goes well with the repositioning of your tree Sent using Tapatalk Re: Building at Willowdale 992Feb 21, 2015 3:01 pm Hi everyone, I hope your houses are all coming along nicely. Just a question to anyone who has their house backed up against Camden Valley Way and if you have a stormwater pit in your back yard. What are you doing about it? Landscaping ideas, recommendations? Would love to hear what people have done. Thanks Re: Building at Willowdale 993Feb 21, 2015 3:18 pm SarahRust Hi everyone, I hope your houses are all coming along nicely. Thanks Hi SarahRust, I don't have one, but I have seen some display houses that have them & they have worked out quite nicely - there is one in the willowdale display group of houses... Hard to make too much progress without the land registered but we have made quite a few decisions. Are you going single story or double? I know! This forum is great to meet our surrounding neighbours At least you guys have made small decisions! We're still deciding on what to do. Don't know if we want to go the owner-builder way or just use a company We still haven't decided if we want single or double. How about you guys? The good thing is registration has moved up one month earlier than expected. At first it was May-June and now it's April- May!! So exciting! Re: Building at Willowdale 995Feb 23, 2015 3:51 pm I visited our site last Sunday evening and found a group of 3 access to every site and house along Jamboree Ave including display houses, I just hope that Willowdale has security patrol in the estate during the night. Hi Redfernpoint, There used to be 12hours of security at willowdale, from 6pm to 6am - that was as of last November, but I don't know if it is still going...hope so! I have the Eden Brae OnsiteEye camera on my site, & I haven't seen 'random' walk-through's to date (but maybe my site is known to have a camera..?) Have you lost anything/items missing..? Sent using Tapatalk Hi Redfernpoint and PixGT, I hope your builds are going well. I just got my OC last week (yay)! Anyhow I was moving stuff late one night last week and I got stopped by the security guard. So he starts later than he used too and not sure how long he stays there until- but at least he is there. As daylight savings kicked in last year I wondered if they were going to change the hours! Take Care R Re: Building at Willowdale 998Feb 24, 2015 8:45 am Hi WillowdaleR, Congratulations! Hope the move is going well Thanks for that - good to know security is still there. Hopefully bricks start this week, then will have only main floors, paint, garden & finishing off...yaay! Sent using Tapatalk Re: Building at Willowdale 999Feb 24, 2015 9:21 am Hello, I just got a message from my builder that due to delay in land registration, the construction will start by end of Aug 2015. My lot no is 3125. Anyone with similar news? Wondering when do I start my loan process Re: Building at Willowdale 1000Feb 24, 2015 2:53 pm Where is everyone getting their information from? We are lot 2159 stage 2E, and we haven't heard anything from our builder as well as stocklands. People in stage 3 seem to know more than stage 2 haha. Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11883 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 21717 |
