Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 851Feb 11, 2015 7:45 pm Hi, just another question, we had our first walkthrough, ho long should we expect until handover. In the practical completion letter it says 5-10 working days for defects to be corrected, but no one has given me a handover date. ??????? So close, yet so far, Thanks! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 852Feb 21, 2015 7:26 pm How is everyone going? We have just had the waterboard out to cap off the sewerage pipe , this was the final thing holding us up and now our construction cert can now be officially stamped and finalised hopefully demolishing the house will be very soon! Almost at construction stage I am looking into private building inspection companies at the moment. I have read many threads but most people have not commented on who they went with... Any recommendations out there? I have a question..... Have you made it to handover yet???? And a landscaping question, our plans are very basic.... Does the council make you stick to the plan or can they vary a little? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 853Feb 21, 2015 7:54 pm Ses_78 We have handover next week. In regards to landscaping, it depends where you live but if you are just getting your bond back i think you can change it down the track no dramas. Its basically there to make sure you do something and not leave a pile of dirt as far as i can tell. I had asked a similar question a while a go though so would like to know others opinions on this. Especially in regards to whether you just have to have the front yard completed to pass. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 854Feb 22, 2015 9:40 am Hi everyone How many times u guys have change the floor plan before u sign the contract? I just wondering anyone here building house at Jordan springs? After we sign the contract with Kurmond when we have to pay the 5% tender? Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 855Feb 25, 2015 3:47 pm Hi everyone, Demolition has commenced. Oh dear it's raining…demolition has stopped Ses-78: You guys are building the Sierra aren't you? Looks like we will be building together as your demolition is about to commence. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 856Feb 27, 2015 3:16 pm Big Mama.... How exciting!! you are well and truly on your way to a brand new house. Fingers crossed that there is not too much rain between now and handover!! Hopefully we won't be too far behind you as they said our demo should start at the end of March (not the beginning of March like we were told in January) All of this waiting is sending me crazy! We are building a duplex not the Sierra. Its really hard to trust that everything is being done efficiently when you are told that there is nothing left to do, everything is ready to go and then you have 12 more months of things that continue to hold up the build. It's going to be great when everything is finally finished but I don't think that I could put myself through this process again... It just better be finished by Christmas! I just had a quick read over your posts (a 'refresh' not stalking )... We started this journey about the same time was it only the hydrolics that have held you up? Your hydrolics problems started just before we found out about ours so I wonder if your issues helped us prepare everything before going to council as I noticed that you lodged at council first. Unfortunately it has still all taken FOREVER! Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 858Mar 16, 2015 5:04 pm Can anyone help me. How long after final approvals do they start construction? We have cdc approval 3 weeks ago and signed off final construction plans last week, how long after do kurmond homes start construction, I have asked last week but they haven't replied, and don't give me a straight answer. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 860Mar 22, 2015 2:17 pm Hi all, new member, we are building with Kurmond with regret..... after 7.5 months, we are already to go, so we thought, then found out Kurmond don't have Home owners building insurance, this takes approx. 2-3 weeks to get, so EK1976 this may be the reason you have not heard back. I thought this would have been applied for whilst plans were in council, or when we signed contracts back in Sept. Just seems to be delay after delay, so frustrated. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 109513 Hi there! Putting the feelers out there for those who have (or almost) built with Arli homes! Interested in your experiences who've built from their stock home designs… 0 26595 Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 25785 |
