Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Good Start!!! 9Jun 21, 2007 12:17 pm Cookiemonster Hard not to laugh, but it is kinda funny. You have to post a pic! Hope to get one...the neighbour said she will take one for us!! Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: Good Start!!! 11Jun 21, 2007 1:00 pm Love the pic!
I'm pretty sure that was him!!! No idea how they managed it.....is'nt the heavy machinery supposed to be secured to the truck????? Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: Good Start!!! 12Jun 21, 2007 1:05 pm Yak_Chat The bulldozer fell off the truck !!! What a classic!!!!! Sure it wasn't "Bill SteamShovel" and he was a bit eager to get to work today Steve He looks like he's fallen over a few times already. Re: Good Start!!! 13Jun 21, 2007 1:10 pm Hey Cookie, I'm lukcy I cross both age gaps Muppets and Mr Squiggle.
And yes Bill was known to fall off his shelf all the time. Hence the joke. And Vanderlay - yep they strap them down with chains and turn buckles, so either someone forgot to strap it down after working on it in the yard, or they had a chain break, and then the others just started to let go. or the truck dirver was trying to be a rally dirver on the way. Steve Re: Good Start!!! 14Jun 21, 2007 1:17 pm Yak_Chat or the truck dirver was trying to be a rally dirver on the way. Steve Bit of that we think - it is a steep turn at the top of the access road, but 4 other houses around us have had big trucks and machinery when building with no issues!! You would think if they were doubtful they would just unload at the top and drive the bobcat down!! Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: Good Start!!! 15Jun 21, 2007 3:28 pm Well, it seems the bobcat has been rescued and removed!! So no work on the site today!! Mind you, we only know all this cause of the neighbour....have heard nothing from PD about it Obviously we dont expect to hear about every little thing that goes wrong...but maybe about a big thing like that!! Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: Good Start!!! 16Jun 21, 2007 3:37 pm 10 points for the funniest post I've read in a while.....still laughing!!!!
Vanderlay, hope things improve, if anything it’s given everyone something to laugh about. Poor old BILL…..hahahahaha Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Good Start!!! 17Jun 21, 2007 4:05 pm Thanks Michelle!!
Glad to give everyone some humor!! Apparently they cut the corner turning down the access road and that side of the road had been just dug up by telstra a couple of days ago....so the truck just sank on one side and the bobcat tipped off! Anyway...they will have another one up there tomorrow and will unload at the top and just drive the bobcat down the hill!!! So....take two tomorrow! Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: Good Start!!! 18Jun 21, 2007 4:17 pm Sorry….it just got funnier by the mention of TELSTRA!!!!!
Its looking like Comedy Capers…..when their due next, have a movie camera ready, could be good viewing. I can’t laugh, my first husband dropped his favourite piece of machinery (backhoe) off the back of his truck on the Highway, at the busiest set of lights we had at the time. Lucky the car behind him had sense not to park to close…… It took a whole 24 hours for the town to find out….. I still laugh about it. Looks like the $100 I paid the guy to sabotage things so I could get in the lead worked out. (I work at Telstra) Never mind, you can borrow ours when we are done. See you at slab down 3xb 9 25931 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 8107 Hi, I have had them in the past and the pros are: Versatile, i.e many different colours and styles to choose… 1 7710 |
