Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New Living Homes 333Dec 17, 2014 6:09 pm blackenator Well its official I will not be in until next year. I had organized with the builder to have inspection today and he canceled it and re arranged it for next year January 15. I don't mind being in next year just wish they were honest from the start Sorry to hear about that cancellation. I'm sure your house will be great once you're in next year and things aren't rushed. We got our keys today! Everything sort of fell into place with some minor hiccups... Carpet was installed today, painters were doing touch ups, cleaners went to the wrong house and ended up coming late, over door was broken when they opened it out of the box. Dilusso sent a guy this afternoon and they replaced the door straight away. Bricks in the corner had to be redone twice on the weekend and are still to be cleaned. But we are glad to have the keys and our site supervisor really went above and beyond to get us in. Still have a lot of work to complete our house. Driveway fence landscaping grass etc but slowly we will get there. Merry christmas and a happy new year Re: New Living Homes 335Dec 18, 2014 7:37 am Congrats JNS. Enjoy your new home. Are you happy with the quality of the finishes? How long did the build take from commencing work to handover? Re: New Living Homes 336Dec 18, 2014 8:09 am Hey guys thanks heaps. We are very happy with all the finishes. Our house isn't fancy like the display homes with their 600mm floor tiles and their 2.7 ceilings and 40mm waterfall benches, but it really does look and feel like a well finished home. There are minor details that are to be fixed up in the coming days, but our site supervisor did everything possible to have us in by Xmas. Slab was poured around 20th august. Include about 3 weeks worth of delays due to weather and brickies lagging. Around 4-5 months. Not bad I think. Merry Xmas to everyone here and I'll post a few pics after the whole house is finished off with fencing and landscaping in the new year! Re: New Living Homes 338Dec 18, 2014 8:25 am Sounds like a positive experience overall which is great to hear.
