the guys I suppose started pretty early as by lunch time they had taken away the heavy machinery they used to drill the holes for the concrete piers. all up there was about 63 (due to timing and not realising the plans actually had a couple more and I would not know which ones) .. had to go around each one and write down the depth and sign off as the provision was for 70 lineal metres and I had 54.7 woohoo!! next week is the plumbing and slab (the weather next week will be interesting) .. I would be extremely happy if they can get the slab down and it just rains after then the long hot summer to let it cure. I'm sure they'll want me to pay them before Christmas too!! Day 1: Surveyor has marked the site (no photos) Day 2: Preparation to level up where the slab will be (35 tonnes of additional soil, then once piers are drilled the soil that's dug up will be removed. My estimate of the "spoil" for removal is at 15 tonnes) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Day 3: I'm hearing crickets no action Day 4: Pier preparation and formwork Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde area (NSW) - peg out 71Nov 29, 2014 8:54 pm Woohoo indeed to less than expected costs! Here's hoping the weather gods smile on your slab Thanks AvaG!! I shouldn't really complain too much since the work commenced in November and not in December .... at least I know at the very latest this time next year I should be in the house!! The weather has been so unpredictable this week, I am extremely amazed at how Mother Nature have given me plenty of decent weather during the day for work to complete before it rains down later in the day! Extremely happy with the outcome and hope it will now slowly cure through the Christmas holidays. one less item to stress about now. hope the photos will help others!! Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - slabbed 80Dec 07, 2014 10:57 am Good stuff! At least you got the slab down before Christmas, which is what you were hoping for. I've shared some of my photos here - http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/damianbruno7/library/ I completely understand the concern about avoiding controversy, especially with client sensitivities involved. That said, given the structural risks and prior… 7 35001 Same, I worry that cladding/render will require some maintenance, and replacement eventually.
