Sorry, been pretty flat out of late. Not a lot has happened with the crazy weather over the last couple of months. We are now at the stage where the roof cover is being done. Aside from those delays, no dramas. Ben Trager, in The Vines. 44Jun 22, 2014 11:24 am Here's a few more photos taken on the 2nd day of roof commencement. They're not very clear but I thought it may be of interest to someone out there. Ben Trager, in The Vines. 45Jun 22, 2014 11:41 am Thanks Archetto. I'll be back home in 2.5 weeks so looking forward to seeing a nice roof when I get back. Fingers crossed we get some nice weather between now and then. Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 46Jun 22, 2014 3:35 pm Hey looking good guys. Like the white windows. They look like a different design to ours? Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 47Jun 22, 2014 6:07 pm Thanks owf, We've gone for the same exterior colour scheme as the Appella. All along we were thinking Arcadia which is why we got the same planter box at the front and windows for the theater, then on the day of pre-start we got in there and just totally changed our minds on the colour scheme. Our windows do seem to look a little different to yours but I'm not sure if it's just because of the colour or if it is in fact a different design. We didn't order anything out of the ordinary. Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 49Jul 15, 2014 7:06 pm Hi, how's ur build going? We liked ur roof colour so we decided to do the same! Is it surfmist? Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 50Jul 27, 2014 5:20 pm Hi kristal_chev How's progress going? We're thinking of building with Ben Trager so any updates would be appreciated. What colour is your upper render? Ted Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 51Jul 31, 2014 9:35 am Back again after what seems to be months. Glad you liked our roof colour Ronfire. Yes it is Surfmist Welcome Ted. I'm not too sure what the name of the render colour is but I'll find out and get back to you. Our exterior colour selections were the same as the Apella. Hubby and I haven't been to see the house in quite a few weeks as we both do long FIFO rosters. The roof was something that really seemed to be taking forever and we were getting disheartened about the progress. Hubby sent them an email about it a week or so ago to which the response was that they would look into it and get back to him. They didn't get back to him, but it seems that it must have helped because we now have a roof! I fly home on Monday so checking out the house will be one of the first things I do. I'll be sure to get some photos and post them up. We were happy with the rate of progress until it reached the point of the roof needing to go up. I'm not sure if Ben Trager are having issues with their roof contractors, supplies or just too many jobs at the same stage and not enough labour. A lot of houses in our area have been going up much faster than ours but I try not to look at it in that way. We were told the house would be completed within 10 months of the slab going down so that's the time-frame we try to look at rather than comparing it to other houses. Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 52Aug 01, 2014 12:14 am Good news, look forward to your updates! Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 53Sep 03, 2014 12:55 pm Haven't really been visiting Homeone much. Started a new job and have been flat out. Anyway, I thought I'd pop in to share a few photos. Our roof was completed about a month ago. Progress had been pretty minimal but since the roof has been done, it's been progressing really well. We've had the windows done, aircon vents, the internal float, and the front render started. My Mum visited the site yesterday and tells me the ceiling was being done. After being away at work for a month I'm super excited to get home and see it all for myself. In the meantime, here are a few photos my Mum has sent me in the last week. I had my mother go and check out the house on the weekend to see if the white set was done and to our surprise it had been done. That and more. We are now locked out! Hopefully when we are home we will be able to get a look inside and get some photos. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 60Sep 23, 2014 6:29 pm Okay, so I heard back from Ben Trager. I had to sign a variation to reposition the manhole. Apparently a truss was in the way and can't be cut or moved. Doesn't really bother us. Just signed it to get it out of the way. They were unable to give me a date for practical completion but basically said once the cabinets are installed the tiler will start the tiling prep. Once the tiler and supervisor are then ready, they'll arrange a tiling meeting with us. Once the tiler is finished, it's approximately 8 weeks from then until handover. Since we aren't having the rest of our floors done or walls painted until after handover I'm guessing it could possibly be sooner but we won't get too ahead of oursleves... although now that we're at lock-up stage it's so easy to get excited and impatient I hope to be in our brand new house in November. If the eaves are fixed first, the eaves line is about 250 mm below the top plate of wall frame. If the cladding ie hebel stops just under the eave line, then that means… 2 30282 I second taking your plans elsewhere. They're yours (unless you ended up in one of those cheaper arrangements where you don't own the rights and the build will be tendered… 2 17081 All locked up and cabinets are in! Had a bit of an issue with kitchen tiles no longer available, so I had to re-select. I'm happier with the new selection though, which is… 25 100688 |
