They are huge tiles ( with matching huge price) but hopefully since we are being careful and buying so much from auctions as cheap as we can it will be worth the extravagance. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 35Nov 04, 2008 10:00 pm Love your falcon. We have one in this house (bought for 1/2 price in clearance a while ago now) but will have to save up to put one in the new house. It's the only thing that I will miss from the current house. I love my falcon! Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 36Dec 10, 2008 9:34 am More purchases made yesterday - from the wonderful GraysOnline This time we bought a wall cupboard unit in rosewood finish with 7 doors - approx 3500 x 550 x 2500mm; 6 section fitted with internal shelving; 1 section cloak cupboard, all doors fitted with magnetic catch doors. The plan is to install in the study but if for some reason we can't get it to fit then it can go into the garage. SuH - if you are looking at this thread - it was the final sale of all the NIB offices in town. You should have seen the rosewood fixtures in all the executive offices - and they went for a song. <edit> Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 39Dec 10, 2008 8:56 pm Donuts - we figure one for DH, one for me and the kidlets can squish together!!
Now just trying to work out the logistics of being in 3 places at one on Friday to pickup all the new purchases Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 40Dec 13, 2008 9:54 am Well heard from Council / Water Board / Builder yesterday. They through a bit of a spanner in the works because they expected us to demolish the existing home upon the site prior to building our home. We are just about to put tenants into the home so this wasn't what we wanted. After a bit of a discussion it seems that Council was more worried about access for the building site - but since we have a clear thoroughfare through the block next door (which we also own) we covered this concern off quite quickly.
So Council has agreed that as soon as the new home is completed we will either have to demolish the existing home (to get around dual occupancy laws) or alternatively get the subdivision approval underway. More then likely we will go with the latter as we will be subdividing the block into three eventually - one for us, one for the in-laws and one at the front containing the existing home (which in the long run will be demolished and a new home eventually built for my parents to rent off us when they decide their heritage home is too much for them). So now just waiting on the Water Board to give approval for the final redirection of any overflow directly into the stormwater drain then our builder has 4 weeks to commence building. Picked up the chaises and wall unit yesterday. All are brilliant buys which will (a) look amazing & (b) save massive amounts of money come moving in and furnishing time Now the only problem is that our builder is no longer able to supply the 2400mm vanity that they quoted in the tender. So their options were to have two separate 1200mm vanities with a nib wall in between - but this looks a little dicky or have a custom made vanity - which will cost another couple of hundred but we will end up with whatever colour we choose.
