Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 44Jul 21, 2014 6:31 pm Have to wait. They have us a rough estimate which was within our budget but have to wait and see. Logistically easier to get builder to do, any anecdotal evidence of necessity, etc? We're not near the beach Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 46Jul 23, 2014 6:06 pm I'd like to know that too, did they price it for you? How much life should it add to your render? Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 47Jul 23, 2014 8:09 pm Dulux offer a 15 year warranty for the system if you get accrashield applied. We had it priced through BT and it worked out about $28 sqm. Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 48Jul 24, 2014 11:12 am Yep, Dulux told me about the warranty too when I asked. Makes sense to get it done during the build when scaffolding is already up . Waiting to hear the price anyway Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 49Jul 26, 2014 6:11 pm Ok, so far so good. Land side is proceeding nicely towards settlement. Not sure when exactly, need to confirm with settlement agents. Got final variations back and sending off tonight/tomorrow. Also been running round getting quotes for floors, to join quotes for painting (internal walls ground floor) and window treatments as bank needs all that for the valuation (or so the broker tells me!). Got all that now so once variations are back with the contracts admin have to wait for final drawings. Maybe we can have earthworks start in Sept? Or too optimistic? I guess might depend on the how quickly council processes the building application Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 50Jul 26, 2014 6:18 pm It didn't take long from signing contracts to get to site for us, so fingers-crossed. Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 51Jul 26, 2014 7:14 pm They say from prestart a slab should be down in 4 weeks. But I guess as you haven't settled on land I'm not sure how that then works. I'm hoping ours is slabbed in sept so will be good to have someone starting at the same time! Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 52Jul 27, 2014 9:35 am True, land settlement will affect the timeline. Not complaining....we'll enjoy the debt free days while they last Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 53Aug 01, 2014 10:18 pm Following, keep the updates coming! Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 54Aug 06, 2014 12:01 am Ok, final plans in the mail today. This is fine toothed comb time....in the midst of 15 other things. O joy...... Definitely need a fine tooth comb, we found plenty of little mistakes, with ours. It was all the little things like we changed the cupboard configuration of the island bench so the dishwasher powerpoint didnt move when the dishwasher recess did. Easy fix though. Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 56Aug 08, 2014 4:27 pm So true, so far a couple of very minor things hopefully will be done and dusted this weekend Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Re: Building in Banksia Grove - Ben Trager Homes 57Aug 13, 2014 6:58 pm Final plans done. We had a couple of minor things to correct, which they've done so will be checking and signing off tonight. Have signed loan papers for the land . Settlement set to happen next week. Now, building plans and costs have to get past the bank and council. On a related note, we're looking at putting in Parador laminate floors but we found another German brand called Classen from another flooring business in Malaga - prices are a bit better compared to Parador but thing is I can't find much feedback on it, other than the fact that it is German-made. Anyone heard of this? Council pointed out quite rightly that the DAP in Banksia Grove requires the alfresco to be on the east side of the house....our plans were designed with it in the west. Our designer's mistake. So now we either swap the family and the alfresco, or flip the house around. Only thing with that, imo is that all the wet areas and laundry move from West to east.....not so pleases bout that. With option 1, we'd need to look at redesigning the back a bit to maintain the flow of space....sigh. It's not like we're living in it.
