You must be devastated Nmcl16, especially being so close to making it happen. Good luck with your future decisions and build. I think builders can 'use' designs but have to change 10% to keep it above board. We're in Lara building the Addison, there's a couple going up near me (the Westwood and a double story) but I've never heard of anyone saying they can't build on a block-we were told they might not be able to or just with higher site costs...damn clay sites! Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5287Jun 10, 2014 9:29 pm Hi Guys, Not sure on the procedure, but thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Glenn and my wife's Nicole and we've just signed up to build a Cambridge 26! We are building on private land, not an estate and that seems to be a bonus as less restrictions in place. We've got 750sqm, so lots of space around the house. We've gone with the following Cambridge 26 with RHS garage Rivera Facade 1m extension to the garage. That's about it. Probably spend a little on upgrades at spectra, but structurally she's what we were after already. Our land is a few weeks away from titles, so no soil test yet, so still waiting for site costs but not expecting too bad as land is pretty flat. Anyone else building the Cambridge? I know we were the first to order it with our facade as they didn't have any drawings for it in the system yet! Our sales consultant is Allison, located at Grandvue a Estate in officer. The only display of the Cambridge is at Melton, so we've only seen it once. If anyone is looking for a consultant she is fantastic. I may do the blog thing, see how we go. I've built before, in 2004 with Metricon, but this is my wife's first build. She's looking forward to colours, I'm looking forward to electrical! How long has everyone taken for their colour appointments? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5289Jun 10, 2014 10:10 pm Our block is in Leopold with excellent soil and clay! However the original fall was over 1.5 m. So despite the building site on the block being as flat as a pancake, they still won't build on it. Their prerogative, but doesn't make me any less peed off! Our house is now at completion stage and probably have 2 months to go if not less. Just a question, as you know Carlisle don't do driveways for the Affinity range, can anyone recommend a concreter in the Mt Aitken / Craigieburn area? Thanks heaps in advance 0 5238 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6604 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14598 |
