Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 06, 2014 3:21 am For cdc approval, can I orient house diagonally and made the garage underneath. This way I can have required side setbacks of 2.5 m for lot width of 28m. For the garage, it has to be 1m behind the building line.

"Probably"? CDC does require some enclosed private space, but it's only 24sqm or similar. I don't think there's anything in the regs that talk about any fixed requirement for orientation, so long as you're far enough back from all boundaries and the garage being underneath doesn't make the overall building too high above the natural ground level (I think it's an 8.5m limit?) then you're probably a good part of the way there. Maybe if you draw a diagram, more knowledgeable minds than I can answer? Re: house orientation on battlexe plot 3Jun 06, 2014 9:42 pm image added to give you an idea what I mean.
