Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1159Apr 02, 2014 7:24 pm mdjveuve uncyspam adi Guys, we in stage 1b have been allocated the street number but not DP hence have been told by builder that CIC won't allow the plans to go council yet. Could you please advise if you faced with same issue? thought we can get approval from council in the meantime land's ready and once finalised all good to go but doesn't seem to be the case. Dp is tied to the registration if the land, which should be done this week according to Patricia. Hopefully you get it soon so you can get your plans in! 9 weeks with QCC and counting for ours! I talked with the builder on Friday and they said that they had been in contact with QCC and were expecting to receive them last Friday afternoon or at worst today. Haven’t heard anything yet though. The bank require a copy of the council approved plans before they grant final approval, so it’s just a waiting game at the moment. How is your council approval going? We are at around the 8 week mark now too and I wanted to know how you went (I more need to know there is hope ). Googong have advised settlement should be between October to December 2014. I was wondering if others who have now settled on their block could advise whether the advised approximate timeframe is fairly reliable? I am leasing from May 14 to June 15. I am hoping for settlement on the land in mid-November 14 and then try and get Queanbeyan Council approval. Thanks The timeframes have well and truly blown out for all of us. Our contract said September 2013... We still haven't settled but it's meant to happen any day. We expected delays but we have been given false hope almost every month since November 2013! Yep, I remember when we saw the sunset date and it was December 2014, they said we would never get anywhere close to that date and we all had a good laugh. Now looking back it it as we were originally also told September 2013, it seems like a pretty big blowout. It also seems like the updates haven't been as regular now that at least one stage has been completed. (we were told late march, but still no news). We have already settled, so it's not a huge deal, but still I think we should be told. Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 12099 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 22201 |
