I saw someone's suggestion to create a Facebook page. So I have kicked one off called (simply) Eden Grange. Anyone interested to join please do so. For some people it may be easier to access. Some people may not be interested and that's fine too. Cheers Natalie Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 869Feb 08, 2014 9:40 pm Mitro16 Hi Kim, Thanks for letting us know re lot 37, great news. I'm going to ask our CSA on Mon to pass on our contact details to our neighbours in an effort to get them in the loop. Regarding the retaining wall cost, I'm starting to think that most on McCulloch & Horizon will potentially need some sort of retaining wall built if we want a level backyard. Also if you're on a block where it's cut then potentially the cut side will require something, although will be slight and shouldn't be too expensive. My understanding was the cut & fill retaining walls were covered in the contract. I'll ask the question and see what comes back. Thanks All John & Sam cut and fill is included in the contract. Retaining walls, not so sure. Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 870Feb 08, 2014 9:53 pm Hi everyone , My wife met some of you today on the land . Here's our story so far !!! -Initial deposit for lot 37 December 2011 -signed contracts 2012 -original construction date February 22 2013 And we can join you and say this has been a very frustrating experience . We have been let down so many times with the land development and the communication threw Eden Brae . We are glad to now have at least a forum where we can talk to our neighbours and get advice to help us get to what started out as a dream and has turned into our worst nightmare . Look forward to meeting everyone and discussing all things with you all . We had look threw the history and in regards to the fencing we are in favour of colourbond we believe is more modern and durable . Hopefully we can come to agreement which is best for everyone . But will eagerly be reading yours, may give me the incentive. published my first today. Not sure, how often I might blog. I did take few photos for next post. http://saville27project.weebly.com Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 873Feb 08, 2014 10:36 pm We were told we don't need any retaining walls but the people directly behind us would as there land would be below ours . We picked this lot for that reason because we didn't want the extra cost . But we wouldn't be surprised if that has changed now Pete & Tam lot 37 Manchester 23 mk11 Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 874Feb 08, 2014 11:05 pm Whalan333 Hi everyone , My wife met some of you today on the land . Speak soon Pete & Tam lot 37 Manchester 23 mk11 Welcome Pete, It was great to meet your wife today and glad you found us on this forum. Tam was able to provide us with some info that we were unaware of. It certainly has turned out to be a nightmare. My husband and I were discussing this tonight and agreed that this should be one of the happiest times of our lives, and one of the best experiences for us all. We are first home buyers, as are a number of other families, and what started out as building our dream home, has turned into a nightmare that doesn't seem to stop. Our time frame is a little less than yours, but I can appreciate how frustrated and angry you are. My husband John and I are happy to have found this forum and a wonderful group of people all going through the same horrible experience which keeps us a little sane, and I guess we can all draw strength from each other. Hopefully you and Tam can catch up with everyone at our next meet up. Thanks All John & Sam Hi John & Sam, You have probably noticed your neighbours have joined us With regards to retaining walls, we were informed by Charles at our tender/contract signing that we would be responsible for our own retaining walls. We apparently need two small walls on either side of the house, towards the front. I guess to make our yard level we will more than likely need to build an even bigger one in the back yard. It will be interesting to hear what they come back to you with. There has been a lot of speculation as to who is responsible for the retaining walls. Re: Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone? 876Feb 08, 2014 11:30 pm Kimmid You have hit the nail on the head I get so angry when I think about the house to the point when people ask me house the house going? (for the last 3 years ) I find myself getting so annoyed I have to ask them not to talk about it . The only way I have dealt with it is by not thinking about it at all ! When I then explain that nothing has changed they then tell me I should get out of it ( which we can't ) not that we would if we could . Me and Tammy were so excited for the new year to start and we're being really positive thinking we will definitely be in by Xmas 2014 but after the conversation with our csa on Friday that's not looking promising .
