Poured last Friday. Mr H and I went up for dinner on the weekend. Its rather large! Standing at the front door. http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s642/mrshorner86/IMG_1923_zps9ce2b8fa.jpg Taken from further back, i was trying to get the whole slab in. http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s642/mrshorner86/IMG_1928_zpsbe828cef.jpg From the back of the house. http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s642/mrshorner86/IMG_1936_zps42b6d284.jpg We're not happy with some of the rock support for the sand pad. We weren't happy with it at all to start with because we weren't told we'd have it and then when it was there the workmanship was very poor. DAH have agreed to get it cleaned up though. Our (new) SS and jobs starts manager came out to the site after we requested a meeting and they didn't like the look of it either. Glad we got that sorted relatively painlessly. I was in tears when i first saw it. Bricks will be delivered to site soon and then hopefully a brickie not long after. Happy Days! Re: Dale Alcock build in Roleystone 58Jun 18, 2014 2:42 pm I have been a bad bad bad home one blogger lately, i'm sorry. What have i been up to you ask?? Studying, moving twice and lots of little housey tasks. Living with my folks became unbearable so we moved in with Mr H's brother, Sister in Law and niece, in "the Baldives". A lovely area but just so far away from our regular lives, we're eastern corridor people, and the freeway is just painful! Just recently we've moved to a friends place which is near the swan valley (hello wineries!). Only a few more months to go.... Yeah all that's great but how is the house coming along???!?!? Well: Ta da! Mr H and I (and some friends), got our plumbing skills on and connected the down pipes to the rainwater tank (15/06/2014): http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s642/mrshorner86/IMG_3587_zps2b3002b5.jpg Does anyone remember the game Pipe Mania? where you had to connect all the pipes in time before the little plumber man turned on the tap? Well that was like my training for this task. I rocked it. We've had it checked by an actual plumber and he said it looks great, so phew! Our glaziers installed the windows (16/06/2014), this is the dog door. we're worried its a little low for our lovely lady, Maya (a Siberian husky) to get through, Mr H has spoken to the SS and he is looking into it. http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s642/mrshorner86/IMG_3589_zps0cebef87.jpg And finally, yesterday (17/06/2014), the cabinetry for the bathroom, ensuite and powder went in. i haven't seen these in person yet, Mr H has been painting the ceilings this week and he sent these pictures through. Powder http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s642/mrshorner86/IMG_3590_zps0637775b.jpg Bathroom http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s642/mrshorner86/IMG_3592_zps60845e9a.jpg Ensuite http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s642/mrshorner86/IMG_3593_zpsbc85c31a.jpg Mr H also said the Laundry ones are there but he didn't take a picture (men! honestly). The internal doors have been delivered as has the big entry door and we're expecting lock up at the end of the week! I had to go into Central recently to change the handles we had chosen for our bathroom, en-suite and powder because the cabinet maker didn't have them anymore, we chose something very simple and in the end i think i'm happier with the new choice. That brings you all up to date. We got a bit frustrated waiting for things to happen after the slab went down that we kind of lost interest. Now that things are moving along we're really, really, REALLY excited. We had a change of SS and CLO at the start of May and these new guys are fabulous. Our CLO keeps us up to date (even when there isn't really anything to update), and they're both really good at following up on stuff for us. I thought that whilst i was at it i'd upload a copy of our final plans: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm not sure what comes next after cabinets, is it tiling?
