Browse Forums Building A New House Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 294Oct 17, 2013 11:15 am It's great to see everyone talking and meeting their neighbours here. Welcome SilvaMeritha. Chapo toliet is a good start, you'll be surprised with the progress once they get the slab and frames up in the next few weeks. All it all should happen quickly, the time is really wasted on internals in the building process..... Need some advice...on the building contract for single home we have been quoted a 2600mm high ceiling that will have "fibre cement infill" over windows and doors. I don't like that look, so good I picked it up before we got into signing stage. Anyone here have brick infills as standard? Wisdom? Also, what is the desired eaves size and height for a raised ceiling, mind you only planning to go with 2600mm in living areas to reduce costs...Also anyone upgraded from pencil round to splayed skirting and architraves? I noticed that to buy the material from bunnings there is no difference in price but it seems to attract a price hike from builders for asthetic reasons with no real cost differential. I am also putting these details out here to let you know of the details that you may not pick up before signing.... Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 295Oct 17, 2013 11:52 am SilvaMeritha Hi all We are looking to build as soon as all the paperwork gets done,it just seems to take forever. We are going for a single storey through Masterton , design is prelude exclusive.Ken and Lisa I hope you get your approval soon!!,. Silva Meritha We are building Masterton as well...I knew someone was in here but didn't realise it was the block behind We are going to have to get a pool in quick smart before there is no access. The paperwork is taking forever for us as well...hoping to have our revised plans back today and then its full steam ahead. Oh the email has just come in as I speak with the plans ..yay better go now Ken n Lisa...they are building a single storey on #118 Villina Grande Handover 10/9 Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 296Oct 17, 2013 1:49 pm Abe we are having the same size ceilings as you but with wisdom you get a lot of square set features in the foyer and decorative niches in the walls. However we originally added more square set ceilings in our living room but then later decided to drop these as the study and bedrooms are just plain. It saved us about $1,500. I'm pretty sure I remember reading we have brick above the window frames. If that is same as what you mean regarding fibre cement infills. I do suggest to everybody deciding on their house to really read of their tenders and questions everything and anything you don't fully understand. Also ask about all the inclusion you can get. I even found going out to display centres over and over gave me ideas to ask about and even talked to others building and got their ideas too. For example if you are getting niches in your shower ask which direction/orientation they will go. Ours were vertical but discovered you can have them turned horizontally for free increasing the space/ area of the shelf plus now not requiring a glass shelf Building a Wisdom Impression 33 5 bed + study, outdoor leisure + lanai, Jasper colorbond roof Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 297Oct 17, 2013 2:59 pm Hi All, Hubby and I just purchased lot 529 and would love to hear from our neighbours lot 530 and lot 528 and the neighbours behind. We are going single storey at this stage and are looking at Lilly Homes. We just got the email from Sasha with the sales advice and are very excited to be moving to what looks like a great community. Hi Abe, as previously stated I work for Wisdom Homes and can advise what Wisdom do here. 2600mm (2590mm) high ceilings are included in the price throughout the ground floor. Bricks above windows and garages are also included. You also get 90mm half splayed skirting and designer 67mm architraves as standard - all of these are included in the Prestige Essentials Package. I decided to build with Wisdom before I worked here, things like the above are included where most builders don't, loads of other things like floor to ceiling tiles to two walls in bathrooms and $35 tile allowance means you get a better "standard" home package. Most important to us was the fixed price tender, it's all too easy to get hit with things when you are too far down the line to say no. Anyway I'm not going to go into a sales pitch but happy to answer any questions if people have them. I'm at the Oran Park display village - ask for Paul Welcome Wendy - you have chosen well with Manooka Valley - we all seem a friendly bunch Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 299Oct 18, 2013 5:55 pm Our lot had its benching done today the count down is on now. I think the next 6 months will go fast. Anyone want to meet up this weekend ? Hugh and myself are free tomorrow morning and possibly Sunday afternoon. No stress if people are busy I just know we will be going out there at some point this weekend so Hugh can see the benching. I met Wendy and David over the weekend - Thanks for coming in guys Also spoke to the possible future owners of lot 530 who are lovely too. Manooka Valley is going to be such a nice community. I'm still a week away from slab being poured which is frustrating, still the waiting game is nearly over. thanks guys! yes this is how I've exactly raised it with the builder. still awaiting response. 12 6358 Howdy all.
