Hi Mandy,

Thanks for your reply, I take it you decided that the noise in Caversham wasn't as bad as Queens's park? I think I'm just going to have to get over to that area in the early hours and listen to it. I'm surprised that you've had such a long wait, I wonder if the following stages will also be subject to this kind of delay.

Has anyone had clarification on whether you actually need soak wells, someone told me that because they're putting in site drainage that the houses don't require it.

Nowhere could be as bad as queens park, so we're already winning!

we were DIRECTLY under two flight paths, planes coming in and going out. Our block in Caversham isn't directly under the flight path - not that I've witnessed anyway, and these things seem to change all the time anyway, with more flights being added all the time, so who knows what situation we'll all end up in?! I don't know where the other stages are in relation to the flight paths.

Almando told us stage 3 wouldn't take nearly as long as stage 2 - so that made us feel much better - not!

Hey Ppl, I have bought a cottage block on Summerville blvd in stage 2, it's nearly been a year now and building still hasn't commenced despite titles being issued last month. Anyone else in the same boat? I am now e-mailing Aussie living homes every week to get updates on what the hell is going on.
Very disappointing and heavy on the wallet!!!

Hi, Just saw your post, We signed up with Aussie Living last Nov 2012, titles were issued 27th May 2013. I also keep ringing and being told the girl is in a pre-start meeting and she will ring back, she never rings back and then I have to email. I am ringing tomorrow and asking to speak with someone else. They said they are still waiting on a survey and that it would be any day now, that was over a week ago. It's very frustrating and like you said heavy on the wallet. As they made mistakes with our plans etc and wanted information quickly I thought I would take it into the office, they were busy with pre-starts and said they couldn't even look through it for a week. I wonder if there are alot of people in the same situation, I understand there are time frames, however, a bit of communication at times would help.

Im Building with Aussie living on Summervile BVLD stage 2, i'm Furious with them, I saw 7 Pads down in Stage 2 on Friday.

Im surprised you haven't had your Survey done, mine was done on the 05/06/13, their was mistakes on my plan and I said im not paying for it, not to mention the storm water issue that ive been having with them!

I e-mailed ALH last week, and they said the delay was with the developers approval, so I rang Taylor's, he said the developer only got the plans a few days before, In total their was 11 plans submitted from Aussie Living and Ventura Homes (same company), they also said the developer was not happy that the same house design had been used for most of the blocks on Summerville Bvld, I will be absolutely rope able if the house designs have to be changed!

After they get approval from the developer, they go to shire for 4-6 weeks.

I have friends building in St Lennords, Their titles were issued 1st AUG, they went to shire 6th AUG got approval 2 weeks later, and settled Last week.

My block settled on the 26th of July, and titles were issued on the 20th of June, I don't understand what Aussie Living have been doing for the last two months.

As of Friday im overseas for 14 days, I hope they don't think that's an excuse to drag their feet.

Has anyone had clarification on whether you actually need soak wells, someone told me that because they're putting in site drainage that the houses don't require it.

Council requires storm water to be connected to the silt pits, no Soak wells, its in the design guidelines.

Hi everyone,

We are going to be in Dempster St and it seems like a very busy place at the moment. Slabs and walls but not ours yet. We only settled on our block last week so we are now hoping for the weather to improve so we can join the action. We are with Aveling Homes and they have been pretty patient.

Hi Mandy,

Congrats on your slab. There are quite a few now and I hope ours will happen soon. A redink box (power I suppose) has been put up next door but Aveling haven't put anything on ours yet. We will have a drive over tomorrow afternoon to check it out. I drive past every day on Benara Rd to and from work and have seen a lot of action in the mornings.

Hi everyone,

I'm building in Stage 2 on one of the cottage blocks on Donatti Retreat (who would've thought picking a design for a small rectangle would be so difficult).

Red Ink Homes are offering capped siteworks at $15,000 including connection to the stormwater. Can anybody tell me if that is a good idea?? Obviously if it would cost more than $15,000 it would be but I'm not sure if it would be better to have siteworks on a provisional basis.

Any suggestions?

It is an upfront estimate only, it could be lower or higher depending on the amount of work. I was quoted $12000 for similar site.

Hi all,
Well Dempster St is sprouting lots of slabs and I am happy to say that one of them is ours AT LAST! We chose our batch of bricks today so they can get cracking on some actual building in a few weeks. We are Lot 1130.

We're building with Impressions, lot 1133.
It would be great to hear how everyone's builds are progressing.

We're Dempster Street lot 1123!

it's the brown brick Redink house.

It's been a long and sometimes unhappy and difficult road!

you may have also experienced the delays on titles, or are you a lucky one that only recently bought your land?

We have electrics, plumbing, roof, gutters and fascias, and this week they did our gray plaster. The brick we chose was discontinued so we had to pick another one. We then had problems with the bricking - the standard was terrible, Redink pulled three quarters of it down and started again (they should have pulled it all down, no idea why they wouldn't). The second attempt still wasn't good enough, so they have agreed to render the whole house at their cost. Not what we wanted, but you have to get over it and move on don't you?!

How's your journey been? Whereabouts is your lot in relation to our's? I'm thinking it's on the other side of the road??

Yep we are across the road. If you've been out there for a look lately, it's the red brick house next to the Celebrations one that's just been rendered.
What a nightmare for you. Ours hasn't been particularly smooth either. We bought the land last August, expecting to have titles by Christmas. It's been delay after delay out there. Impressions has been pretty slow with building too. They laid our slab mid-September, but we've only just got the roof on, no plastering or anything yet. We've been told to expect a build time of around 7 months, which would put us moving in around April. Fingers crossed anyway

We're only a little bit ahead of you. It was a bit frustrating at the beginning as we were more or less the first to buy a block in that stage but saw other slabs going down before our's.

Good luck, and hopefully 7 months is the outside. They haven't given us an estimate yet, but I'm telling myself somewhere between May and June - the theory being that if it's earlier I'll be pleasantly surprised!

Hi everyone, my wife and i have decided to build and we were looking at Taylor Private estate and the surroundings. I know this is the not the chat for this kinda inquiry but i am not too sure of the Caversham suburb and the City of Swan. Is this a good area to build for a family with young kids? and for those who have been in Stage 1, how has the stay been in this estate and are they teething issues in the whole building process: council, developer and builder?
