By all means it is not a full list, but covers lot of items to make a wish list for, as well as things to look out for. Taubmans Winter Ice NH77. Window frames are Colourbond Paperbark. Gutters are Colourbond Loft. Master Bedroom I'd like the Master bed wall look, how much did they charge for the feature walls and pain? The bulkheads in the master bedroom are part of the house design. We painted it after handover, plus a wall in the living room for $200 including 2 different paint colours. M wanted $1000, as tender variation. I would have got M even for $400, but when it comes to variation to tender they just lose it! Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 109Aug 29, 2013 11:47 am Hey did you have to pay to get any steel beams galvanised?? Does the beam above the garage door come galvanised as standard?? Does the beam above the garage door come galvanised as standard?? To be honest, I don't know if it is, or if it is normally galvanised. We are not near water, so I don't think it is. Best ask M draftperson. Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 111Sep 06, 2013 8:25 am Hey I heard that you only can chose one colour for walls, trims, doors etc. Is this correct?? If you want the walls a different colour then that costs extra?? Im worried about going to the colour appointment and having to pay for all these extras that you kinda have to have. What was your colour appointment like? Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 112Sep 06, 2013 8:38 am fingalbrad Hey I heard that you only can chose one colour for walls, trims, doors etc. Is this correct?? What was your colour appointment like? I think you get to choose 1 colour for the walls and another for the trims. If you want different colour for each room wall, then it is extra. Also extra is the colour white. We chose as close to white as possible, so if we decide to have different colour walls, it would be easier to paint over. Colour appointment is half a day long. They will help you choose, but is is always better to go there with ideas and theme in your head or better still, written down. I think M has colour appointment kitchen and wet area catalogue. Ask for it. It will help you choose ahead and make things easy. Good luck with your choices. Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 113Sep 10, 2013 9:32 am Hey are there any extras at colour appointments that you cant get out of?? I found out that Masterton dont provide an aerial. You can either buy one from them or get it done later. This to me is an extra that you cant get out of as you do need an aerial. So Im just wondering what other costs at electrical and colour etc you cant escape Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 114Sep 10, 2013 11:20 am fingalbrad Hey are there any extras at colour appointments that you cant get out of?? So Im just wondering what other costs at electrical and colour etc you cant escape I chased the cost of installing TV aerial after handover, it is no cheaper, plus, having the installation and cable done before gyprock, it is not worth the effort. I would get M (Santinel) to install it. Though we have foxtel, but we only have 1 box, so the other TV points use the normal free-to-air via TV aerial. ie. the bedroom, where any free to air crap tv show will put you to sleep very quickly (Not that foxtel is any better!). Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 117Feb 25, 2014 7:27 am Hi did your electrician leave the GPO in your meter board? I hope they leave mine, it will come in handy Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 118Feb 25, 2014 7:50 am fingalbrad Hi did your electrician leave the GPO in your meter board? I hope they leave mine, it will come in handy I do not recall having one. Our electricity was connected after handover, so there would have been no point. All work that required electricity was done via cordless or generator. But, I did include exterior GPOs, one on each side of the building Handy, instead of running long power leads.
