You can't clean through screens. There was no need for it seeing as it's not a large house, and we have two sliding doors for exit access as well as the front door and the laundry, and they are all spread out around the house. EN, what do you mean "sliding glass panels"? We don't have that, I'm pretty sure. Surely you wouldn't have security screen over a fixed pane of glass?? So I mean the part of the window that opens, just take it off the track to clean it. It should lift out pretty easily from the inside. We don't have that, I'm pretty sure. How does your window open for ventilation? Does it slide or wind out, I can't see how it could wind if you have screens so it must have a section that slides yeah? EmyN Surely you wouldn't have security screen over a fixed pane of glass?? I've seen windows with screens over the opening AND the fixed halves. Re: Security screens and window cleaning 8Jul 14, 2013 5:30 pm Yeah, they slide up or to the side, but they don't actually come off as far as I know. It is the easiest way. Just grab the window on either side and lift it up and out over the bottom frame. I thought security over the fixed panel was illegal, due to fire. ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Security screens and window cleaning 11Jul 14, 2013 6:53 pm Di Nosaur I thought security over the fixed panel was illegal, due to fire. The side with the opening glass has an opening screen. If theres only screen over the moving part then the moving part can be lifted out for cleaning but I wonder what people do if they have the fixed screen over the fixed glass side too? Strong hose? Vacuum? Re: Security screens and window cleaning 12Jul 13, 2014 9:38 am Ask my builder who put all my crimsafe on with the window sticker still on the windows lol Re: Security screens and window cleaning 13Sep 29, 2014 1:50 pm I also have been wondering this same question, most of my windows are horizonal sliding so its easy to lift them out to clean them but I have two vertical sliding windows in the main bedroom (both parts of window- top and bottom slide up and down). I dont know how to remove these types of windows to clean the outside. Any help would be appreciated. Re: Security screens and window cleaning 14Nov 17, 2014 12:55 pm If the windows cannot be removed, be it the panes or the frames, then I do not think there is any way you can access the middle screens. If the dirt you mentioned is not that visible, then I think you should not even bother to have the screens cleaned. Here in my storage facility, we just clean briefly so as not to look weathered, but it still gets dusty every now and then which is common and normal. Re: Security screens and window cleaning 15Nov 17, 2014 1:39 pm I have found spray on stuff at Bunnings. It is in a weed n feed type container and you wet the window (through the screen), spray the soap foam stuff on, leave it for 10-15 secs and spray it off again. Brilliant. ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! The screen can't be removed at all, it's a bolted security screen. I have the same problem, trying to find a solution for cleaning the glass behind the screen Hi everyone.
