From my last visit to Avonlee, stage 3C isn't complete yet, so the delay will be preparing the land and installing services such as power/water/gas/comms. Once this is done the titles can then be issued.

It can take dogs a couple of weeks to settle down to the new noises.

We are getting closer to some install dates. Just wanted to share some things Ive picked up along the way

• As AC27 mentioned earlier, there are a lot of missed appointments from the NBN, unfortunately its just a work load issue and they should be able to keep up, but the reality is they just arent meeting the demand. Just try and make sure you don’t need to take time off work to attend (someone does need to be home for the appointment)

Its important you know where the inside box is going to go, again unfortunately a lot of contractors are telling customers they need to have it in their garage. Its simply not the case, you should have an option for an inside job. There are some restrictions around this. They may need to quote up how much its going to cost to have the inside box installed in a specific location in your house. Don’t just accept it in the garage and attempt to get it moved later!

If you have smart wiring it should just end up at the central wiring point, which confusingly is often in the garage!

If you don’t have smart wiring its basically the modem you would have had for broadband, but this time you need to have a router which you can plug the NBN box into.

Most of you haven’t had a phone service for a while, so depending on what you ordered through your ISP, you are likely to be getting a VoIP service which runs through the router. So again placement of the NBN Box and your router is crucial to get right.

ive still gotta run my internal wiring....dont look forward to it. do you know if nbn tech will add a powerpoint if there is not one available at the location

Did you get 3 months free? Ive been trying to sign up online whilst at work because I have rubbish reception at home ... but canr because my address is not recognised ... grr

Im with you MelQ. Totally confused!!!! We just had Telstra on the phone saying NBN wouldnt be doing our appointment on Monday now and had to reschedule it to 20th and then the Telstra connect on 25th. Lucky its on my days off.

Bleh all our stuff is in the garage so we where going to put the box there. Will it cover the house or should we put it inside. We have a store room which is basically central to the house and has a plug in there. Would this be a better option. I know we have to pay for them to do cables.

We have Foxtel Mel but we just transferred ours from our old address.
