When you go through the electrical plan with Rod (electrician), when you get to the kitchen, just say you're supplying pendants and can he install. I think we forgot to say that and when we dropped them off, they had not put the support beam through the roof to hold them, so they then needed to do that but if you cover it off in your electricals appointment then you'll be good to go. He and his team are great - by far the best trade of our build.... so accommodating and his boys are lovely... You won't have any troubles with Rod West Electricals....... Great team! Do you finally have a driveway? Nothing much has happened so probably why I haven't been on. Hi Charlie23 - better later than never with the reply but even 7 months on - still no driveway.. we have a bit of one for council at the cross over but we have so much concrete to pour we haven't been able to afford to finish it and the final bit has to all be done in one go - between about 180sqm-200sqm I think still to go.. We have been trying to get our basix changed to not include air conditioning as we wanted to get the drive done but can't afford both. really long story, but in order to get our interim OC we needed air conditioning as it was a contributing factor to our basix rating. therefore through necessity we were being forced to do the air-con first. Only problem was we weren't planning on putting in air-con straight away - we wanted the drive so DH can finish the gardens (he's a landscaper) and I don't want anymore dirt/sand on my poor porcelain tiles... Kurmond should not have had it in our basix to start with as we had pulled air-conditioning out of our tender. Anyway, only about 3 weeks ago Kurmond changed the basix and certifier approved it - so now no need for air-con (yay!) so drive is booked to be poured after Xmas (double Yay) when our concreter is next available - about the 20th Jan... Now it's sooooo hot, I need air-con so this will happen about March after a couple of good pays. House is still pretty much the same but by mid next year we should have enough money saved up to have a complete drive, air-con and extensions off the back alfresco so hubby can then do his Japanese garden. I will post at that point some updates. he has finished the laundry side of the garden - looks amazing. helps to own your own wholesale nursery - at least our garden looks prosperous. with all the lovely plants - and what a difference a bit of turf makes... I will try and take a photo tomorrow -our first little completed project anyway. Anyway happy Xmas and New Year to all. Be safe with your families. It's been a big year full of all emotions and in many ways I am looking for 2014 to show itself. Thanks for all the input and support - certainly wouldn't have been as fun without you (or sane for that matter)! xx Blog: http://cbcbuild.blogspot.com.au/ Building Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62155 Re: Lilac's Build-Custom W/Kurmond Homes - A bit of Extravag 215Feb 24, 2014 12:50 pm Fantastic kitchen. We are thinking similar colours for ours, but with stainless steel appliances and pale grey splash back. Where are the kitchen pendant lights from? Hi, we live in an area where the black soil is prone to a lot of movement. We have an old 50's house with masonite everywhere and nails popping out, warping, rusted etc.… 0 4792 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 35145 6 57439 |
