Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1967May 02, 2013 8:56 am Thanks Mel. It was the tiler doing our kitchen tiles. He needs to grout the tiles so hopefully he does that today. Had an email to day our paving is booked in for next week and still looking at 2-3 weeks and then 10 days for final handover. Hubby is going to send an email today to push for a better date. We are going to ask if the 17th is still the date they are aiming for. We don't have stock standard window sizes so we have to get custom made! Bugger I see your blinds are up. What do you have to do when when you move in? Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1968May 02, 2013 10:10 am Hopefully you can push them to give you a better date !!! Were going to measure our windows and see If we can get some windows done ourselves ... I think we have a 3m window ... so hopefully we can just get 2x 1.5 m ready made ones .... and I think they have some that would fit our awening wondows .... *crossing fingers* ... We have to get our soakwells and crossover done .. which we will be doing this week and next week so its all done before we get in ... were also getting a concrete path down the laundry side of the house grass and garden beds accross the back ... 2 brick walls built at the side and a gate and extra paving ... we also have yo continue our retaining wall and add garden bed in front... luck8ly not alot to do inside ... just painting ... for now ... we would love to get all our lighting done but it might have to be left for a little later ... were also waiting until mid winter to get an aircon ... im sure well find more that needs doing ... oh actually we have to install our overhead cupboards which are waiting patiently in flatpavks at the moment ... and we have to get absolute stone to come back and cut 11mm off our benchtop so that we can fit our fridge in lol thats going to cost us anither $400 to get done .. grr Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1969May 03, 2013 2:34 pm well we have moved in and just had pool installed yesterday. Thankfully that means we can now seek to get paving done ASAP to stop all this sand coming into the house. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1972May 03, 2013 8:23 pm Hi everyone, congrats. BJA Still no response from Council re effluent issue, but I spoke to Western Diagnostic Solutions driver who was there this morning; they are actually removing material from the drain to be taken to a pumping station. Work being carried out on Arpent is sewerage pipework to carry material to pumping stations (hopefully to eventually end trucking the stuff! ) Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1973May 03, 2013 9:36 pm DaedalusCool we will have neighbours soon! Dargon did youget your keys? - there were people inside your place around 8:15 last night so thought it might be you? Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1974May 04, 2013 10:02 pm What a week that has been.......carpets done, wardrobes fitted, blinds done, electrics done and pool installed!!! Now just the flooring to do next week then we can start to unpack. There are boxes everywhere and we can't find anything. Cant even find our daughters school books.....oops. Finally the paving can be done in a few weeks once the pool is complete. The pool is about 6x3.5 mel. Didn't have enough space for anything bigger. How is everyone else going with their houses. Hoping for a few more neighbours soon. Smile how old are your kids and are they boys or girls. There are 2 boys behind us. Our kids are 13 and 10 yr old girls. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1975May 04, 2013 10:09 pm Sounds like a busy week BJA, that will be us soon, hopefully!! Is your block 574sqm too BJA? I don't think we could fit a pool in ours, although right now we can not afford too. We have a boy 4.5 yrs old and a girl 2.5yrs. Our new next door neighbours to be have a boy and a girl I think 8 and 10? Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1977May 05, 2013 11:54 am Our block is slightly less but we designed our home to use as much of the block as possible and with the pool included. We have very little garden but the kids play out and about these days. Our 10 year old loves little kids. We are getting the commercial grade vinyl planking AC27. Its the Van Gough series. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1978May 05, 2013 12:02 pm We'd love a pool I think wed have to go concrete tho ... so that we could go close to the fence .... one of our many dreams lol ... we also have a 2 1/2 yo girl ... so lots of kids running around which will be great as there arent any kids in our street at the moment and she gets very bored by herself ... Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1979May 05, 2013 1:08 pm We are only 1m away from the fence line and 1.5m from the house with a fibre glass pool. You can go as close as 1m from the house. The kids loved the pool in our last house. Glad there are lots of kids as we haven't really had many around our last houses. At similar stage, seems like all builders these days try to make some hidden money from site costs. Will know more as it proceeds. Try out maximising your initial costs… 1 29517 Hi mate, we’re going to be another couple of years before we end up building as decided to wait and travels around Oz in our caravan, so sorry can’t you really help… 11 104203 Wow thank you so much for all the effort you put in to this that's amazing. I just need to be careful how I name/lay out the rooms due to developer requirements - one… 9 28376 |
