Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 541May 01, 2013 8:51 pm Mandy. That's the problem I don't know who to call. I called manager I've had contact with and he has no control after prestart. My CA is aware of my journey. I've sent many emails and been in tears at the office. I get done as priority but then their mistakes make us take 10 steps backwards. AC27 - I honestly didn't see how they could get so bad. Like to go from being awesome to be so so bad. I have a friend who can possibly get me the manager directors contact. So once DH home think we will write a formal letter/email. May seem drastic but none of my paperwork through this process has been correct. It's not good enough Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 542May 01, 2013 9:01 pm Gosh, I feel so bad for you Leanne. If it were me, I would go to Head Office & demand to be seen by someone in charge, even going so far as making a scene at the office until they dealt with you. They obviously think that they can get away with this, they need to be held accountable. I could go to office but I they would prob just tell me what I wanna hear. Actions speak louder than words Sorry I'm really down about my build at the moment. Will try distract myself til Friday. Thank goodness DH gets home Saturday morning. We can spend all next week calling and emailing and get our file to scheduling!! Thanks everyone for listening to me constantly whinge. It really helps being able to vent to people who are/have built and know the process. With DH work we don't get to talk much when he is away so I feel like weight on my shoulders. So thank you for reading/commenting Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 544May 01, 2013 9:24 pm This is one of the problems with building who do you complain to, you only have the contacts your given. The mistakes on our plans were fixed up in two days. Can't understand why it is taking them so long!! I'd also be recording everything to make a complaint to the building commission once this is all done! I hope you can have a mental break from this while your hubby is back!!! Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 545May 01, 2013 9:32 pm You poor thing I was a bit in your situation earlier this year with a CLO who was hopeless, utterly hopeless. Seriously we got to the point where we were honestly thinking about printing up placards and staging a peaceful protest outside the builders display home... I would get as many email addresses as you can and completely hit them with correspondence - try to keep it as factual as possible with no emotions (this is hard) until you get a response, I ended up emailing the owner of the building company and everyone else I had ever been in contact with there every day for about a week and kept repeating my story. Plus I threatened to write up a scathing review on Product review and then write another formal letter to the HIA. I literally went ape s#$% We ended up getting a new SS and a new CLO and all is good now the builder has a restructure. And what is with the spelling mistakes Thats why they invented spell check! Or whatever Charlie23 said, nothing gets results like a sit in...been there done that but thats a story for another day Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 547May 01, 2013 9:42 pm Don't know what else to add apart from saying i feel bad for you. Maybe sleep on it and then write a fairly formal email, once you're rested you can think better. Ask your sales rep for names and email addresses if you dont want to talk to the office. Maybe even cc the director into it, or anyone else remotely important. Product review is not a bad idea either like Scotty dog said, they are monitored and are assured a response . I know how you feel, my file went back sooo many times but at least I had competent people assisting me once it got to a certain stage. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 548May 01, 2013 10:00 pm My sales rep left last year. My contact person has been the brand manager & my CA. I'm def not writing anything for couple days til I can get clear head. May wait til husband is home as he is a manager so he may be able to write more professional. I think I'd feel better if my file was going back for decent reasons but its all coming down to staff not paying attention to detail. I feel like if they sent me my file I could do it all for them. I pretty much have done it for them the whole time. I shouldn't be the one finding so many errors. Every time I get a little bit of hope and positivity it always seems to come crashing back down I'm sure a good nights sleep will help Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 549May 01, 2013 10:29 pm Chin up Leanne. Contacting the MD is definitely a good idea. So frustrating when a) you want to take action immediately but b) you want your other half's perspective and practical support but they're not around. I am a very impatient person and hate when I don't have control over things, but through this process I'm learning (a bit!) to 'let it go' and that things sometimes aren't as important as I think they are. I don't know you're personal circumstances, And I do know other people's incompetence is very very annoying. But hopefully you can get a good night's sleep and hang in there until your husband's back. And then let him have it, lol! Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 550May 01, 2013 10:50 pm I think they're delaying you on purpose now because their south of the river ss walked out on them and now they have no one to manage the houses. Or potentially new ones. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 551May 01, 2013 11:01 pm Still think it may have something to do with out-sourcing overseas. Hate it how reps in display homes are nice as pie to get your business, now they don't even answer phone calls or emails. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 553May 01, 2013 11:16 pm AC27 I think they're delaying you on purpose now because their south of the river ss walked out on them and now they have no one to manage the houses. Or potentially new ones. Oh great. Leanne - I really think our experiences have come down to the pre-start girl and not much else. Let me know if you do write a letter because my fiancee wants me to write a written complaint also. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 554May 02, 2013 1:59 am Hugs Leanne. I hope you can get it resolved soon. I though the sales guys were contractors? I might be wrong. I do think it's a good idea to write a formal letter (write it up in word and send PDF version as attachment). You could also post a paper copy addressed to the managing director. Companies should be genuinely interested in your feedback. Also outline exactly what you want moving forward. Shame to think one idiot in prestart can cause so many dramas. AC I don't think they would purposely send us plans with mistakes. I think it's a lot of miscommunication and fact they outsource. I will type a letter today. Leni good idea bout PDF. I will ask my CA for admin manager details or ask her to forward it on. I will mail a copy to MD if things aren't resolved by the weekend Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 557May 02, 2013 8:05 am Maybe not but while there is no ss I don't think they will be urgently trying to get your plans back to you fixed up. The whole construction phase comes to a stand still when there is no ss. I am predicting slab down mid June earliest. This is also under the consideration that they took 40 days for scheduling for my build. Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 558May 02, 2013 9:17 am 40 days or 40 working days? I think time to come to terms with fact I won't be in by Christmas but its not gonna stop me from complaining loudly Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 559May 02, 2013 8:23 pm I originally was told by sales rep... yeh for sure you will be in by Christmas - were so lucky we never went through with making my family come over from NZ to visit our brand new house for the christmas holidays becuase i would have been embarrassed to make them come over to look from the outside sigh... i have mentally prepared myself for Feb 28th 2014.... any earlier a bonus - any later FURY! chin up LeanneR - hopefully things will be sorted quick smart and they have sorted your queries by Friday (tomorrow) yayyyy! Re: Leanne's Baldivis Build #2 - No excitement left. 560May 02, 2013 8:37 pm I sent admin manager a letter via email today so will look forward to the response. Here's hoping prestart girl clarifies things tomorrow so we can go back to drafting. Still frustrating as everything is clearly listed on my prestart papers. I'm still unsure why I'm waiting for prestart girl to contact me. Oh well will see what happens tomorrow. I'm feeling a lot better now I've sent the letter.
