Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1944Apr 26, 2013 1:15 pm No, I can't get any answers. We got told a while ago that they were having trouble getting the tradies back to our house but they tell us that they've got a whole team working on the house and when we go out there, all we see are tumbleweeds! (I think they grow on Mt Avonlee and end up at our place). Apparently, the construction manager (our ss's boss) is supposed to be calling me today Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1945Apr 26, 2013 1:23 pm DaedalusPlenty of tradies around yesterday - all finished up around midday though, was quite suprised. BJA your site was cleaned yesterday. Cooksey welcome to the forum, I got it from http://www.soakwellsolutions.com.au and they are poly - trafficable with load capacity up to 32t Begun the task of digging yesterday, absolutely feeling it today! We all have nice sand but damn is it compacted! Took me what felt like forever to only manage to dig a hole big enough for two of the poly soakwells side by side. 8 more to go.... Thanks for that, it seems like a number of people of using these guys for soakwells and I haven't seen any bad feedback and they seem to be pretty cheap for DIY. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1946Apr 26, 2013 3:56 pm Well they finally pulled it off and we got r keys today!! The gas still needs connected and the door still hasnt arrived but everything was done. Now the moving begins........cant believe how much kids accumulate!! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1947Apr 26, 2013 5:22 pm Awesome BJA, I drove past and saw the big red ribbon, so exciting for you. I have started clearing out things each day, like the bath room cupboards, kids clothes etc trying to make sure we only take the stuff we really need. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1948Apr 26, 2013 5:45 pm Congratulations BJA! That's exciting news! Did you get your house finished through the builder or have you got flooring and painting etc to do yourselves now? I haven't started packing yet because I didn't want to jinx it, but maybe I just need to be more presumptuous! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1950Apr 26, 2013 10:22 pm Hi everyone; congrats. on getting your keys BJA. Rang the Council this pm re effluent trucks either emptying or removing waste thru. steel plate near your place Mel; the stench is unearthly even near our house (268). The officer I spoke to initially said I should be contacting the developer Ha Ha because there was a high water issue in that area.(why was the developer given the o.k. to develop with the possibility of having the sewer system pumped out 2 or 3 times a week that I've noticed?)then told me the council will investigate as it should not be happening. I explained that a number of families will be moving in very soon and that they shouldn't have to put up with the stench regardless whether the trucks were emptying into the sewage system or emptying out the drains; something will have to be done very soon. Awaiting a reply. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1952Apr 27, 2013 8:36 am Ohhh has to be outside my house lol ... congratulations BJA ... it must feel amazing to have your keys !!! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1953Apr 29, 2013 12:03 am Congratulations BJA! That's exciting news! Did you get your house finished through the builder or have you got flooring and painting etc to do yourselves now? I haven't started packing yet because I didn't want to jinx it, but maybe I just need to be more presumptuous! Thanks Everyone!! We are doing all the main flooring ourselves with blinds and paving etc, we just found the builder a bit too expensive although it would be nice to just walk in to a finished home!! By the end of next week we should have our pool in and all flooring completed, the next project will be the paving. Fun times!! Well unless your name is Brian and your are moving sand around!! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 1954Apr 29, 2013 12:04 am We will be with out internet for a few days so if you see us around say hi!! At similar stage, seems like all builders these days try to make some hidden money from site costs. Will know more as it proceeds. Try out maximising your initial costs… 1 29517 Hi mate, we’re going to be another couple of years before we end up building as decided to wait and travels around Oz in our caravan, so sorry can’t you really help… 11 104203 Wow thank you so much for all the effort you put in to this that's amazing.
