Drove past the block today and noticed a few cars down Constable street but did not see whose house they were in front off as I was only did a drive by as our batts were getting put in.

Thanks Smile for the update! I did hear a rumour that our garage door would go on today but wasn't too hopefull ... cant wait to see it ... a bit worried its all too white!!! but oh well...

BJA I also heard that Tv signal all came through the NBN somehow and thats the reason we dont need antennas !!

yay i think we will hold out until June too - just have lots of DVD nights !! and i think ill have to download all my tv shows now so that i dont miss out

Hey guys, I can't stress this enough. Currently normal 'free to air' TV is not being broadcast over the NBN. You will need a TV antennae to get the regular channels. Unless they have made a pretty bug announcement in the last day or so that is.

There are quite a few articles which talks about IPTV like FetchTV (cheap version of Foxtel) and that comes through the connection but the other channels will need a normal antennae on the roof.

This will change one day but I'd guess like 5 years from now they only just got us to change to digital recently. Hearing this from TV antennae people is a little mind boggling to be honest.

I'll go through the NBN site again now, but I read it every day and didn't see any announcement about it.

I guess we will findout, we don't watch much normal TV really with Foxtel so if we do get Fox then I think we will wait until June.

I don't think we can get Foxtel through the NBN but I stand to be corrected!!)

if you get it through the xbox I guess it would be nbn connection but I think that's a limited channel package.

While going through the comms with Intelligent Home for my place in 3A, they mentioned that until NBN "acknowledges" that they have to rollout to that stage, it's a Telstra Velocity estate. Now that it's been confirmed, he said I'll need to get a TV antenna as NBN won't do free-to-air over the line. Whether that might change in the near future or not he couldn't say.

Looks like I might need the antenna after all. My yougest daughter asked me if we will have the TV when we move in as she NEEDS to watch the VOICE!!

What can I say to that!!

Hey guys my removalist was $110 per hour and a $50 call out fee, I know there is cheaper out there so have a look around you may find someone more suitable. This guys number was 0412 886 898.

We also had our antenna done last week, two points and the antenna installed for $200. Really quick job and done right - considering the cost of the antenna is about $100 normally, an extra 100 for two points and installation plus warranty isnt a bad deal.

Hi AC,

You might need to get a powered splitter. It boosts the signal before splitting it to multiple outlets. Only downside is that it will need either batteries or an AC power outlet in the roof. There may be some systems available that connect the power to one of the outlets and 'feed it back to the splitter. I haven't looked at TV antenna hardware of late so not too sure on it

BJA I think builders forget that were actually paying them for this ... its like they think they're doing us a favour by building our houses... but really we are doing them a favour by choosing to build with them ... we could have given any other building company our money and they need to be reminded of that !!!

Hi everyone; BJA, your block cleared this am (front that is) RR tiler at yours; 301, looked liked painters at your place. Our garage doors being installed, Wonder Boy (aka supervisor; I wonder how on earth he got the job!!!) still maintains house will be finished by end of April. Still looking for flying pigs!!! Some 15 jobs to be done!
