Finance not approved - preliminary deposit

If finance isn't approved are builders required to give you all of the documentation they have done when they keep the preliminary deposit?
You should have copies send out to you as they progress. But ultimately depends on the contract what was stated
I agree with @lovisa . It will also depends on the time gap between the disapproval and initial deposit. If it takes a couple of months then you already been receiving updates or progress from the builders.
