So we plan to fill in the space between the columns with a false Gyproc wall which will have recessed display shelves cut into it (something like the pic below). I've seen these lit with halogens from the top of the recess but also wondered if it might be better to install white glass as the base of the shelf and have lighting (flouroscent?) from below. Any thoughts?
