Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 25, 2012 7:03 pm Hi there. I have a strange problem. I have a 7 year old house with timber floor boards, not sure what exact timber they are but they are proper boards, not laminate, probably about 12mm i think. The are fixed ontop of yellow-tounge flooring, not sure if they are glued as well. in one room, just in the last 1 week, the edges have started to curl up, along the length of the floor boards, and some edges have lifted 1 - 1.5 mm. I got under the house and looked for wet or damp yellow tounge but can't find any sign of being wet. I am in Melbourne, so we have had a lot of rain lately and cold weather. We also had a small earth quake last week, i am grasping at straws, maybe that loosened the glue under the boards and allowed them to start shifting? Any one faced this problem, any ideas helpful thanks Re: Floor Boards bowing 2Jun 25, 2012 9:57 pm Floor board cupping is a sign of timber affected by dampness, plumbing or roof leak Foremost Building Expert in Australia, assisting with building problems/disputes, building stage inspections,pre-contract review advice for peace of mind 200 blogs http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog Floor Boards bowing 3Jun 27, 2012 5:52 pm Ok thanks.
