Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 03, 2018 11:00 am Hi We are planning a new build (Rawson modified Belview) and will need to start making decisions about internal colours etc soon but I have no idea where to start! The things we know/have decided on are: - double story, modern-style build - external facade greys and whites cladding and render with feature stonework - it's very narrow build (<9m) so light will be critical - pale timber flooring throughout the ground floor, something like a limewashed oak - paint choice is from Taubmans The difficulty is we don't have the cash to buy all the furniture we want as soon as we move in so we need a colour scheme that is reasonably generic to form a good background for whatever we end up going with later on but I don't really want to just paint the whole house white! Does anyone have any hints on how to achieve this or ideas on the best colours to use? Re: New Build Blank Canvas - where to start? 2Aug 03, 2018 1:29 pm After my most recent experience, I recommend you to avoid Rawson Homes altogether. They do have some good designs, and their sales staff is laf decent, but their construction work is terrible. We have had our Rawson built house handed over in December last year, and we are still going through defects, which they generally refuse to rectify. Just check the images below of the front façade render and keep in mind that this a brand new house. They consider this perfectly acceptable. Department of Fair Trading will not help you either, as they are nothing but a toothless tiger. Images Image 1 Image 2 Image 3 Image 4 Image 5 Image 6 Image 7 Thank you so much everyone.
