Re: Advice please??? 2Mar 18, 2009 7:46 pm Whilst both your selections are lovely on their own, this is not a combination I would use. It’s very dark; you could end up with a house that resembles a blob of Liquorice on your land.
I would prefer to see a roof of CB Surfmist with your bricks. Thanks for your response, thanks for your opinon. What about the CB Bushland? What's your thoughts on that roof color and the domino bricks? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As you can tell me really like exterior dark colours and the CB Surfmist is wayyyyy to light and bright for us. Re: Advice please??? 4Mar 18, 2009 8:29 pm How about Shale Grey for the roof? See our blog or thread - it actually comes up reasonably light en masse.
Our bricks would be about the same depth of colour as yours. Jo Settled In - Home Search and Relocation Services - http://www.settledin.com.au http://www.movingbacktotassie.blogspot.com/ viewtopic.php?t=9571 Re: Advice please??? 5Mar 18, 2009 8:29 pm That looks better as well.

Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Advice please??? 7Mar 18, 2009 8:42 pm Oh pfm, l got terribly excited there when l saw you had chosen Loft!...but it seems that your not sure?? Are you wanting to keep the loft and finding a brick to match or are you settled on Domino and finding a roof to match?
My two cents (if your preferring to keep the Loft): If you've seen my Loft thread and all the various pics in there...you will notice just how light (l mean really light) the Loft can be sometimes, depending on the amount of sunlight. Personally, l think the Domino would look fine as long as you have light colours for the gutters/windows/garage doors and front door...so you balance it all out. Whilst the domino and loft looks dark on screen, what does it look like in real life? Try and get a bigger sample of the loft and compare it with the Domino or other alternative darkish bricks, if that's what you like. Btw, there is nothing wrong in having a dark looking house if that is the way you like them. Re: Advice please??? 8Mar 18, 2009 8:42 pm DH has just picked this...????
Thoughts anyone??? Re: Advice please??? 9Mar 18, 2009 8:44 pm I love your first choice - loft. But I love dark houses. I took some photos of a loft roof for Thorney the other day, the bricks with it were a mix of dark and light and they had some paperbark render at the front. I loved it from the back where there wasn't any render.
https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... c&start=45 Bushland looks nice too. What's the colour above? Re: Advice please??? 10Mar 18, 2009 8:48 pm Thorney, I too was very excited that we had decided
on the Loft, we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the loft AND the Domino bricks and if we can keep it and just make sure we have lightish color for the windows, front door, garage door, gutters and fascia's we would be soooo happy. Yes, I have been into your "loft" thread and have seen how it differs so much. We are just having a play around ATM, Arrrgghhhh I thought we had decided on all this, unitl now! Your brick is beautiful we also have a dark brick and thought of both bushland and windspray - but bushland can look really green and windspray can look blue - if you are keen on either i would go windspray - we have settled on shale grey with matt silver windows.....just when you think you know you don't frustrating isn't it, doghouse's house looks great and they like they said have shale grey Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing.
