Converting a Gable Roof

Hi All, we are interested in purchasing a property but really don't like the roof. Attached are images. The roof is a lot steeper then the photos show, which is why we would want to alter it. Would really love any ideas on what we could do, and builders/ roofers who are familiar with this kind of work, and costs involved. Any information would be greatly appreciated. There is a storey up there, it’s up to you what you want to do, do you want to extend the upstairs footprint or make it one storey? You are talking serious dollars $500k plus for a decent reno.

You could frame it out and put a skillion roof on it.
