The rangehood is the flue. It extracts the burnt gas and flues it externally.
No, a flue is something that keeps the combustion from happening in the room. As it is, the combustion is happening in the room and only some of the by-products are extracted by the hood.
I already posted a link and a quote for you, where it tells you in plain English how an extraction hood doesn't actually help much. I suggest you begin your research by reading the linked article and then go on to do some proper research instead of relying on your gut feeling.

1950's kitchens often had no such flueing in place. Sometimes there was a small masonry chimney near the cooktop, or an open window, but mostly nothing.
You still haven't figured out that your 50's idea is missing the point, since an extraction hood doesn't solve the problem.

If you look hard enough you'll find studies saying vaccination is bad too.
No. You will find a single study saying that. A study which was misinterpreted by the anti-vaxer movement. I'm sorry, but I don't want to rely on your gut feelings when it comes to the health of me and my family.

I wouldn't worry about gas stoves. Pretty much every chef in the world spends 40 hours a week in front of one.
What's your point? Chefs doesn't live long, and neither does miners. I don't want to do either.
This time I think I have said everything there needs to be said about this. Readers of this thread can choose to rely on your gut feeling about reality, of they can go do some simple research themselves and then make up their own mind. I have said my piece.
