We are at a very early stage of design with our house and I'm figuring out the best way to arrange the home theatre room.
At the moment the room size is about 4.5m x 6m, and the position in the house is as shown here:

I'm after ideas on a few things:
* What side should have the TV / projector screen - I'm thinking the north.
* What to do about storage (for CDs/DVDs etc and the AV gear - I'm thinking have built-ins along the south wall. Another option would be a cupboard at the southern end of the eastern wall - doors parallel to the current wall (i.e. the cupboard itself is in the 'void' space)
* There currently isn't a window - maybe there should be one on the courtyard side (so the room could be used as a hobby room or possible spare bedroom in future.
* Should I have a bar/kitchenette at the back (south wall) as well? We will be needing a fair bit of wine storage too.
In the "hall" from the main hallway to the HT, I'm thinking of making the north part of it a "second laundry" (as you can see the "main laundry" is a 0.7m by 2.5m cupboard on the left of the main hall) - this second laundry could be about the same size and contain the above mentioned kitchenette (or at the very least the bar fridge and chest freezer)
note I don't know what sort of gear we will have - that's still to be decided whether we will use our current TV (42"), a newer one or a projector! One thing that is for sure is that it will be the location for the PS3 with Guitar Hero (with drums), Wii Fit (with balance board) - things that take a bit of space. Just thought I'd mention it as this may affect the preferred dimensions/layout.
Ideas?
