Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura) in South Wes 21Mar 21, 2019 10:49 pm We have decided to add in more paving through the builder as per the below plan: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Probably easier for us to do it now as they needed to put in another soakwell to accommodate it. I'm planning on enclosing some of that side of the house for a cat run too so at least the area will be ready to go when we move in. Re: Our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura) in South Wes 23Mar 22, 2019 2:02 pm steel Good call on extending the paving. While we removed ours so we could do a poured solution instead, its really useful to get it all done at once. Oh I so wish we could have afforded to have that done- no weeds! Yeah it's definitely not on the cheap side but I got so sick of ant hills and weeds I wanted to blow my brains out. Re: Our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura) in South Wes 25Mar 22, 2019 2:13 pm Paving can sometimes be better than concrete down the side of a house. If you need to access plumbing or drainage pipes it's a lot easier to remove and replace pavers than concrete. Re: Our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura) in South Wes 30Apr 02, 2019 9:58 pm thme It’s coming together really quickly for a double storey. Did they give you an indication of build time? They said something silly like 6 months when we were in the planning stages. I thought that was probably a bit ambitious... there will always be a few things go wrong to throw the timeframe out I'm sure. I saw another thread involving this builder (fancier plan) and theirs took about 10 months. We've got bets on and my partner is saying August and Im going with October 😄 Re: Our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura) in South Wes 31Apr 02, 2019 10:12 pm I guess it depends how much extra work they have to do once your build is complete. They told us 30 weeks for ours before we signed, but the contract says way longer. At the rate they’re going we could be ready by June, however we’re doing a few things after handover ourselves, so this needs to be factored in as well. Oh yeah the contract gives them something like 365 working days! I guess they have to cover themselves. Yours seems to be cracking along so far! Re: Our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura) in South Wes 33Apr 03, 2019 10:34 am Our double was 365 working days. Reaslistically, they said 10 months was suitable. First work started in October and we are looking good for keys in June so 8 months in the end. I'm quite well impressed though some months it feels like they acheive heaps and others it looks like they do nothing Re: Our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura) in South Wes 34Apr 03, 2019 3:01 pm steel Our double was 365 working days. Re: Our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura) in South Wes 40Apr 18, 2019 2:22 pm So nothing has happened for the past week, a combination of bad weather and the public holidays I'm assuming. I did receive my order of door handle today though which is exciting! Working in door and handle sales for the past 9 years I have had my favourites picked out from the get go! Internal handle is the Luna from Zanda, this is such a nice handle, comfortable, high quality (lifetime warranty) with a sort of feminine look to it that I love. The flush pulls for our two sliders are a mix of matt black and stainless Verves from Zanda. We have a couple of black door tracks so on the side that the track is on we will have the black pull and on the other side it will be the stainless for both sliders. And our front door pull handle, I didnt want anything too flashy but I think this Bow handle ties in well with the softness of the Luna: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The price you're seeing for a high-spec 2-storey home in Perth sounds steep, but unfortunately, it's kind of the norm these… 8 8061 Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation.
