Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 13, 2018 4:38 pm Hi, If you have used Hall & Hart Homes to build your new home (whether it is in progress or completed), I would love to hear your feedback. We have DA approval already, and in the process of obtaining quotes from builders. What do you think about Hall&Hart in terms of quality, reliability and price? Did you have any major issues and concerns with them? How was the finished product and were defects promptly addressed? Any other feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Re: Feedback on Hall&Hart Homes 2Apr 13, 2018 8:02 pm Hey Merry, We're in the home stretch with H&H now, with our house mostly built. The quality of the finished build has more to do with the quality of the site supervisors, and from our experience (and others we've spoken to) H&H use really good ones, for that exact reason. All builders use tradesmen, so it's more to do with the oversight during the build that keeps it running well. Our SS is always available to chat or for a walk-through, and chases things up for us, but mostly of his own accord. The price seemed reasonable to us considering the inclusions and price of selections. There have been the odd issue, but everything gets addressed quickly and without excuses. We can definitely recommend them The Building with Hall & Hart thread, and a couple others, contain some others H&H experiences aswell. Good luck with your decision! Re: Feedback on Hall&Hart Homes 3Apr 16, 2018 9:16 am Hi Seren Thanks for the feedback. Do you mind me asking where you are building and which SS you used? Did you have to pay a tender cost of $1000? Wondering if you were able to negotiate on the price? Thank you. Re: Feedback on Hall&Hart Homes 4Apr 16, 2018 12:15 pm Hi Merry, We are building in North-West Sydney, about 10min from Castle Hill. The SS are assigned based on what area you are building in, as they each cover a particular area or type of build. We have Michael as ours and he has been great, though I've heard others have been very good aswell. Yes we paid the tender acceptance fee. The price didn't change too much. We were coming from another builder, so could see they were pretty competitive already, so we were happy to go ahead either way Re: Feedback on Hall&Hart Homes 5Apr 19, 2018 9:56 am Hi Seren Wondering if prior to selecting HH whether you had checked out their other in-progress or completed projects as part of the reference checks? It would help us decide if we can view other projects and speak to owners as display homes will obviously be just the "model" home. How close are you to completion? Did you have any major issues? How long did it take to build yours? Thanks Re: Feedback on Hall&Hart Homes 6Apr 19, 2018 7:38 pm Hey Merry, We did not speak with other owners or view any in progress homes before signing up. We just asked lots of questions and made sure they were able to satisfy everything we were looking for. If you let H&H know of your concerns though, they may be able to assist you. Worth a try. We are about a month away from completion. Our double storey build started on the 16/10/17, so 6 months so far, including a short Christmas shutdown period. There have been no major issues, just minor things, which happen on every build, all of which have been fixed or have been scheduled to be. Hope it helps Re: Feedback on Hall&Hart Homes 7Apr 23, 2018 4:53 pm Hi Seren Thanks for the feedback, very helpful. That's exciting that you are so close to completion. Wondering if you have plans to inspect your house in the next few weeks or so and whether you'd be OK if I come along to see the house with you? It would help in the selection process to check out a completed/ near-completed house, but I understand if you are not comfortable. Thanks Re: Feedback on Hall&Hart Homes 8Apr 23, 2018 6:04 pm Apologies Merry, we just don't feel comfortable with that. We hope you understand Edit: Most people I know have not performed a site visit before selecting a builder. We just went off display homes, discussions with the builder, and our own research. Hopefully you can make a decision you feel comfortable with. Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes.
