Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 16, 2017 7:38 pm Hey all,
Thought a general thread for residential builders Hall and Hart Homes may be useful, as they seem to be growing at the moment. We are performing a KDR, building an Elyse 38. Our build has just started, with site prep occurring over the past week. Our build timeline so far has been good, with communication and responsiveness to queries very reassuring. They have been very flexible and prices for variations seem reasonable. We started the process with another builder originally, but it did not meet our expectations, so we decided to look around. We're very happy with our new choice of builder! Anyone else embarking on a H&H journey, feel free to fill us in! Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 2Oct 17, 2017 3:17 pm Met our SS onsite today. Was great to meet him, he seems to have a great approach.

We had selected full-height tiling as one of our choices from the "$30,000 Promotional Items" List.
We were really pleased with Hall & Harts premium range of tiles. We picked everything below from the included range. For our bathrooms they are 600x300 (horizontal) for walls, and 450x450 for floors. We also picked 600x300 Wood-look tiles for our Porch and Alfresco. All wet areas (except Ensuite): - Marble 600x300 wall (horizontal) - Dark Grey 450x450 floor Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ensuite: - Grey 600x300 wall (horizontal) - Grey 450x450 floor - Gloss White 600x300 feature wall (horizontal) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Porch & Alfresco: - Walnut Wood-look 600x300 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 6Oct 19, 2017 12:47 pm Seren1ty Here are some details regarding the tile choices we made. They told us at the appointment that the tile inclusions that Hall & Hart provides is ranked with the best of any builder they supply. We were totally surprised when the consultant explained all the tiles we could choose from. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 8Oct 19, 2017 1:01 pm Seren1ty Yeah that's correct, Beaumont Tiles. Yep, they are included in the allowed range. There were quite a few different styles of the wood-look tiles available. We were very happy with the options! The polished metal edging that is sometimes required is also included. Some builders provide the plastic edging as standard. The only thing we upgraded was the floor wastes to the chrome square 'tile-insert' type. These were $45 each, so we were happy to pick them. Pic for reference below. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 12Oct 24, 2017 6:57 am Preparations for slab have been pretty consistent over the past week. They've been onsite every day that it wasn't raining. Good fun to finally see our floor plan being drawn on our actual block, right before our eyes. Slab is due later this week, but the weather is looking unfriendly too, so we'll see how we go. Wish us luck! Our neighbours have been commenting on how energetic the builder is, moving through each stage with almost no breaks. No complaints from us! The weather has been great of late, and they're making the most of it. Frame is due to complete next week, and bricks are booked in for not long after. Looking forward to walking through with the SS soon! We just sign off our final plan revisions and going for Council Approval. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 18Nov 20, 2017 8:00 pm Looking nice, love how you can get the feeling of how all the rooms feel now. Just a tip, take lots of pictures of the frames where you will put TVs mounted on the wall for stud positions. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 19Dec 08, 2017 7:20 am Thanks AllyBrian, that's a great tip! Our bricks are now roughly at the halfway marker. The bottom level is almost complete, it's great to see some of the colour choices we made start to come to life. It also makes you nervous as it's also too late to do anything about it! We're very happy with the brick colour though, so far so good :p SS is still great to deal with, always contactable, and organizing site visits is never an issue. We'll be attending another one on Monday, to view plumbing rough-in and lower level brickwork.
