Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1161Sep 22, 2021 7:34 pm Hi All, We are now trying to select the demolisher. We got quotes from Advanced Demolishing, Site Demolishing and Eco. Interestingly, Eco is about $7,000 more than the other two. Is this normal? Has anyone used the services from Advanced Demolishing or Site Demolishing? What was your experience? Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1162Sep 22, 2021 8:40 pm We used Eco Demolition and they were fantastic. Could not fault them. Fixed cost, so no surprises with any asbestos found. They held our hand with all the paperwork for council, the certifier, did all the communication with Hall and Hart. Removed a tree for us. Communication was so friendly and amazing. Hi Jo-t, good to hear your experience with Eco, I am considering them to demolish my house, they are the only one who can offer fixed price demolition. $1800 plus Gst, so it's fixed at no other surprise? My neighbor did KDR, got hit by $9000 for asbestos clearance in mid of demolition. Your information is much appreciated. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1164Sep 23, 2021 9:27 am Don't believe the online 5 star reviews or builder salespersons' recommendations of demolition companies. Most of these are not genuine and are influenced. Make sure your contract protects you against the situations like where they stop mid demo, say they have found 'hidden asbestos' send some 'proof' photos etc. The 'hidden asbestos' is now smashed into small pieces and 'mixed in' with the general rubble, they say. They will then offer to manually 'emu pick' this out and bag it at a extra cost of around $5k to save you a $15k+ cost of dumping the large volume of 'contaminated rubble'. Its a very smooth sting with customers thanking them! Despite how charming, honest and trustworthy they may seem, either protect yourself with a truly fixed contract or be prepared to watch or video the entire demolition process. Thanks, they say that everything above ground are fine and their quote includes whatever but issues under ground they cannot say, for example, asbestos under concrete, embedded into concrete. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1166Sep 23, 2021 10:24 am Dont write the demolition company a blank check. Make sure the contract is either fixed cost or the 'hidden asbestos' proceedure is documented, understood and agreed in the contract so you are protected as much as practical against this smooth sting. Photos of asbestos fragments are not any real proof of extra emu picking work done or asbestos disposed of. Before agreeing to pay an extra $5k or so i would want to personally observe the demo team emu picking / chicken bobbing etc for the whole day/s claimed wearing their full PPE, of course! Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1167Nov 13, 2021 10:08 am Hi All Does anyone would love to share your building experience with Hall & Hart ? I experienced a very prolonged.. wait of DA approval (almost a year) due to a request of change of plan by the Parramatta Council, I am about to start the build, but haven't receive the confirmation yet. For the economic downturn caused by Covid and other factors, I am wondering whether there will have more delays to come during the construction stage. How long was your construction stage ? What you might have experiencing now / had experienced with H&H over the year ? Would love to hear! Cheers Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1168Nov 13, 2021 10:09 am Hi All Does anyone would love to share your building experience with Hall & Hart ? My experience was that Pre-construction was where all my delays occurred. Once the site was fenced off it was a smooth process. Date or commencement 25 March and Date of handover 18 Nov. best wishes on your build. You’re entering an exciting period. Enjoy it all. ceciyau Hi All Does anyone would love to share your building experience with Hall & Hart ? I have been gone through a lot over a year personally and with the build. Hope as you mentioned like yours and praying to be completed in mid next year 2022 roughly estimated by H&H. Finger crossed. Thank you so much. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1171Nov 13, 2021 3:06 pm Have you been told who your Site Supervisor is? Once they do you’re on your way and you have a personal contact and a weekly update of progress which is so good compared to pre construction when you hear nothing for weeks. So good times are coming for sure based on my experience. To be honest council issues is not really something the builder can help but it does drain us as owners. Best wishes and I hope too that all goes well for a mid year 2022 handover. ceciyau SDS1 Hi Ceciyau I was handed over my home on Nov 2020 And it was built entirely in lockdown. We're sitting at about 9months when completed, 2/3 of the way there Hi Mia14, Loved to hear from you, we had chat before. I recalled you are building Elyse too (not sure ?). Have you been updated and advised by HHH regularly. Do you know the reasons for the "slow" build ? Enormous amount of committed builds due to the HHH's popularity in the market, or what ? Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1179Nov 19, 2021 1:16 pm NewHM2021 Hi everyone, Making selections via Zoom appointments seems to be difficult. We felt like playing in the dark when we did a Zoom appointment with Beaumont Tiles as we didn't know what tiles were included in the H&H range. Just had to rely on what the Beaumont Tiles's person showed us on thescreen. Has anyone got a similar experience? We have now had face to face appointments - made changes to many selections done via Zoom previously. Face-to-face appointments can't be replaced by Zoom appointments. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 1180Jan 18, 2022 8:29 am How are all the current H&H builds going? We have just engaged them for a tender. I'm so impressed with how much they were willing to do regarding our floor plan before even putting any money down or signing anything. It's all very exciting but extremely overwhelming.
