Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Newlyweds First Home - Hallmark Homes Coomera QLD 330Jan 30, 2017 7:22 pm charlibear Yay for your garage door!! Kitchen already?! How far into your build are you? That's super quick or maybe it just seems super quick cause I'm not really moving lol. Love your landscaping design, I wish I had developers that would do mine GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Thanks CB This week marks the start of week 14 (including 2 weeks shut-down over Xmas). Hallmark's average build time for a single level home is supposedly approx 15weeks (from start to handover). I spoke to SS today who said we are about 6 weeks away from completion (or maybe handover - not sure lol) so looks like it will be about a 20 week build time all up. Fingers crossed they move faster than that as it's not a massive or overly complication/customised home design. I probably shouldn't be complaining given all the waiting you have had to do with starting on site! So far we're really happy with the quality of work done so far, and no mistakes at all. Hallmark trades seem to have good attention to detail which we are really thankful for (touch wood). Plan for next 2 weeks: - internal doors (hung today I think) - kitchen this week - bathroom vanities this week - tiling starting this Friday or next Monday - painter starting mid-late next week Hopefully hubby drives past tomorrow or Wednesday arvy to take some update pics Follow my build - Newlyweds First Home - Hallmark Homes Coomera QLD https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t Re: Newlyweds First Home - Hallmark Homes Coomera QLD 331Jan 30, 2017 8:26 pm goldcoasthome Skyepie goldcoasthome Beautiful garden Von, I bet they have loved all the recent rainfall! Thanks for taking those pictures for me sorry to hear about your mower! Sky - you have definitely sold me on the gardenia hedges now! They are soooo pretty hey! How is your build going?? I've been popping by your thread to check every now and then Follow my build - Newlyweds First Home - Hallmark Homes Coomera QLD https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t Definitely feel like the build is slowing down now the externals are done.... although every week is still progress I guess it just doesn't look as prominent. Do you think the same? Aw that all sounds great!! Yes I definitely feel the same. Not a whole lot of progress last week, but hoping for kitchens and bathroom vanities installed this week and painting this week or next week I really love seeing your build come along. Let me know what your expected completion date is. I messaged SS Tuesday last week to ask for update with completion date but hasn't replied yet, so I'll probably send a 'friendly reminder' text tomorrow if no contact lol Follow my build - Newlyweds First Home - Hallmark Homes Coomera QLD https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t You should def send a reminder text lol I had to request a meeting with my supervisor too. I told him I have a rental so I need a date. He was really good though I love watching your build too lol. I use your build so I know what's in the next stage. We have skipped the cabinetry so now I'm all out of whack! I suppose it mustn't really matter the order of those parts Follow my build - Newlyweds First Home - Hallmark Homes Coomera QLD https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t Re: Newlyweds First Home - Hallmark Homes Coomera QLD 333Feb 03, 2017 11:45 am Jeepers 20 weeks that really sucks! I think I may cry if ours takes that long lol. I'm guessing Christmas time really throws all builds out of whack. 3 and a bit months from when we first started our process and signed land contracts .... We final settle on land 3pm today..... Crazily our Hallmark start date isn't until 28th April so I hope they can start earlier than that- seems like such a long period to wait. ( and we really hate our rental ) At least you get an approximate completion date I guess, could be worse. Those extra few weeks won't even matter once we move in though so all is good The waiting game feels much harder when you can't see progress happening but I'll keep my fingers crossed for an earlier start date for you! Ive been renovating for 5 years now and this was the limit back then.
