Hopefully they will finish framing by end of next week and ready for roof soon. How many weeks for your build? on your contract. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81624 Very exciting!! Our contract says they have to be finished withing 200 working days, so about 9 months. But of course then they don't work for 3 weeks over Christmas, and by the time you add in rain days, I'm not expecting much less than 12 months!! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 83Oct 05, 2016 8:39 pm cat_dunc woohoo! Did you walk through it and love it??? Haven't walked through yet - they put the top level on today, and the roof frames were also delivered today so maybe early next week we might get to have a walk through! So you may be looking around April or May for completion. Are you able to sneak inside or totally lockout. viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 93Dec 15, 2016 8:00 am Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 94Dec 15, 2016 8:03 am shazaw Wow, Wow, Wow Excellent so many things are done. Are you able to sneak inside or totally lockout. viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 That's what we are hoping for, but of course we haven't had any indication of a completion date. They left part of the fence off, so yes I did have a peek inside. So exciting!! Can't wait to have a nice alfresco area!! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 95Feb 25, 2017 9:29 am Lots of things that have NOT been happening on our site after our SS went MIA. We got an independent inspection done, who said that the expansion joints and window/door flashing had grout in them, among other minor issues. Our SS at the time complained that he would have to put everything on hold, because stupidly he had booked in for the plasterboard to be done the day after the inspection (which was done on a day the SS picked - our inspector had been ready to go for a whole month!!), and then was told by the inspector that he had found a few things that needed fixing up! Grrr.... The next day we couldn't get in contact with our SS and we thought he was just annoyed with us, but it turns out he resigned! Anyway, the temp SS seems to be happy to work with us on finding out what the issues are. To me, surely cleaning some grout out of the expansion joint is a pretty easy thing to fix! So, basically since December, hardly anything has happened, which is pretty annoying. At this stage we were hoping for the plasterboard and staircase to be finished, but that has had to be delayed due to the inspection findings.... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 96Feb 25, 2017 12:50 pm Oh no. Hope things pick up soon. Is your build still done via Sekisui? Assume so? Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 97Feb 28, 2017 10:24 am Yes, our build is still with Sekisui, however most of the workers are from Burbank (but I'm pretty sure they were originally Sekisui). Apparently Sekisui are going to get their own inspector in to determine whether the issues our inspector picked up really need fixing or not. I think I'll be looking up some of the Australian Standards myself so that they don't just dismiss everything. They said they will have to put in at least a 1 week delay for "customer dispute"..... Argh how frustrating. The good news is that Sekisui has a high standard. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 99Mar 26, 2017 5:07 pm Still nothing happening on our site. So frustrating. Apparently they are still waiting on their own engineer's inspection report. It would have been quicker to fix the couple of minor things that needed fixing..... Honestly, I could have fixed it in a couple of hours myself.... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 100Mar 26, 2017 5:44 pm argh so frustrating! Have you been talking to your new SS? Can they help? Or have you tried your CSO? I assume your SS is the same as Shazaw's? We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37552 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19366 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13689 |
