Edit** 13/4 - 4 years in the making of this place! Hope you'll enjoy the build now that its well underway. This will be a horse property. Our vision was simple: solid old Australian homestead. The materials are traditional - old red clinkers recycled from a knocked down police station, white mortar, plain galvanised roof, 2.7m ceilings, recycled timber floors, white kitchen, fireplace. We chose a lot of glass, with black trim - including black interior doors. Interior shopping is minimal, leaning towards western, with a little taxidermy and original art. The build also includes a workshop inside, and a shed outside, plus tree planting, horse facilities and fencing. We put a bit of a twist on it modernising room sizes and shapes, including a "shower cave" in the ensuite - completely blacked out with two shower heads and no glass - overall, very pleased with progress.

Hi guys.
I've been browsing HO for a while now, and thought I'd join in!
We placed a hold on this block in November 2014(for settlement in March... yeah, right!) and we finally settle this month on the 16th - yay! So I thought, despite us likely not building until mid next year, I should start a thread since it's been a ride already!
My partner and I are young first home buyers, much to his dismay though - I have horses! So when we started tossing up the idea of purchasing a house, we thought we might just buy an older home in town and board the horses. My, how that idea went out the window!
We went for a drive one day, and saw this development coming up. It had no fencing, but you could get the gist of it. He said "hmm, I'd live here".
So one day, a few months later, while at work (working, of course!) I was browsing Domain and lo and behold, the blocks had come up - affordable, too! I called the Real Estate, and we picked a block. Nearly 12 months later, we have our sold sticker!

We settle on the 16th, and we are so excited.
The house is more or less finished, something totally designed by scratch. It will be a wide-frontage farm house on a slight angle to face the alfresco North. Likely red-brick/white mortar/gal coloured roof - but we're not that far ahead!
Looking forward to posting updates as they come!
