Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 103Jun 04, 2015 11:31 am Thanks guys! Your both had bearer and joists build. Do you mind me asking What stages were your payments broken down into? Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 104Jun 04, 2015 2:11 pm Trying to remember, but I think footings and slab 1st payment, completion of lower floor 2nd payment, frame 3rd, lockup 4th, internals 5th, final fixing 6th. May have the terminology wrong but you'll get the idea. Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 105Jun 05, 2015 11:57 am Thanks Tracey! We have 8 progress payments, 1st Foundations; 2nd completion of lower floor; 3rd slab and floor level; 4th frames; 5th lockup; 6th gyprock; 7th internals; 8th Final. Just sent the invoice for the footings to the bank for payment. Building a house is bloody expensive!! Re: Our First Home! You have the benefit of smaller sized invoices at least. Even if it adds up to just as big a number as the rest of us... Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 109Jun 05, 2015 1:38 pm I was very happy too see my stripes the next step according to the builder is the 25m services trench which they will be digging on Tuesday. Luckily I won't be working so I will be able to watch and take pics Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 110Jun 05, 2015 1:39 pm Wow a verandah. I'm jealous Tracey. We won't be getting our decking for at least another couple of months. That's assuming they build it when they do the framing..I'll keep an eye out for your pics Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 112Jun 08, 2015 6:58 pm Thanks bjsani. I hope it's a quick build. Good luck with your handover. Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 113Jun 09, 2015 2:30 pm Drove passt the block today and they were on site digging up a trench for services to the house. The upside of things is that there are already conduits along the common driveway so we don't need a trench the whole way down. The downside is they had to dig up a bit of the footpath. The builder usually covers that don't they? Pretty sure it's not in the contract. Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 114Jun 09, 2015 4:39 pm Not sure about the footpath but I bet you're loving the progress nevertheless! Although the builder did say he can't give me a date of when the brickies are going to be able to start. They need to brick up the sub floor before we get a slab. Anyhoo I'll put up some pics from today Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 116Jun 09, 2015 5:00 pm The excavator making its way back up the steep common driveway. I'm so glad we did not have to dig a trench all the way down the driveway. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is the sidewalk at the top of the driveway all dug up. I'm fairly sure they still have to connect the gas so they won't be fixing it any time soon. Hopefully all ok with the footpath. Just make sure you won't wear it... So glad that your services ate being sorted now. Beats cold showers Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 119Jun 10, 2015 2:53 pm Haha i don't think I can have a cold shower. I would just got to The in-laws which is up The road hehe. The gas hasn't been connected yet because origin sent me an email saying they won't come out to connect it until the house is 3 months from completion. I don't know why that makes a difference. Re: Our First Home! Bearers and Joists Build on Sloping Bloc 120Jun 10, 2015 3:54 pm I suppose it's to minimise any issues that may arise? 3 months sounds about right, gives it enough time to get it in on time. Cold showers aren't that bad. There are whole studies saying how good they are for your health! I actually started doing cold showers for about 1 year so it's not that bad for me. I had stopped since Autumn. I know I jinxed myself! Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me. He is in my opinion the best surveyor I have ever worked with. His number is 0425 285 622 All the best Simeon 3 12423 i did click it, still couldnt make it out rofl. in any case, doesnt look like too extreme a slope, you may be in luck. Just shoot out some emails to volume builders in… 3 18574 |
